About the Business
Atterbury Fish & Wildlife Area, located at 7970 South Rowe Street in Edinburgh, Indiana, is a popular tourist attraction and park. The institution is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. unless engaged in authorized activities. The property spans 4,950 acres and offers a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities such as upland game habitat, marshes, running creeks, and shallow impoundments.
Originally purchased from Camp Atterbury, an Army training installation, Atterbury Fish & Wildlife Area has been dedicated to wildlife management since 1969. The property was expanded in 2010 through a land exchange with the Indiana National Guard and the Indiana Department of Corrections, totaling 4,950 acres.
Funding for the institution's operation and maintenance comes from the sale of hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses, as well as federal programs such as Pittman-Robertson and Dingell-Johnson. Bicycling is allowed on paved and gravel roads open to vehicles, but off-road travel and mountain biking are prohibited.
Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty and outdoor activities offered at Atterbury Fish & Wildlife Area, thanks to the support of Indiana hunters and fishermen who contribute to its preservation.

"Went to observe fighter jets practice on 12-28 it was canceled weather related it's a sight to see if you ever get a chance I was on the FIRE CREW there for pre-burn when WARTHOGS come in for practice WOW"
"I've always enjoyed my time there. The hunts are serene."
"An interesting place. Some beautiful plants and waterways. There was a healthy population of indigo buntings there which is always a delight to see. The area is mostly for fishing, water activities and hunting, not many trails for hiking. However walking around the ponds and wetlands was nice. There were many killdeer and the fishers appeared to be having luck. I didn’t come across any cleared paths or paved trails so not very mobility accessible. Otherwise it seems like a delightful fishing spot or place to visit in the fall to paint."
"Atterbury Fish and Wildlife Area is a gorgeous corner of Indiana! From its abundance of native flora to the winding waters of Sugar Creek to the woodlands teeming with indigenous fauna, find yourself enjoying little pockets of seemingly untouched Myaamia lands. 10/10, would hike again."
"Great public access for fishing and hunting was a beautiful day to take the fly rod out. Unfortunately for me slow day for fishing but the water levels have returned to a level where you can get out on the river. Wish there were more days in the year ro wade the river and fish for sure!"
