"So here’s my experience in detail . I initially went here because of the 5star reviews and with them being family and black owned . I believe in supporting Hue businesses . Mind you i’ve been living in ATL for 10 years. I came to this location friday june 24th at 4:45 pm they were closed although hours online says 5:30 there door says ‘hours may vary ‘ i said no problem as i needed to pawn valuables due to overdrawing my account and not being able to get to work . I walked to them again monday june 27th from hyde park . Upon entering they were having a conversation with two chicago police officers . young lady asked how can we help you today. before i could say anything she asked if i had electronics i said a couple but the silver suesse bar was what i handed her . she said electronics would have to be checked by the African man who was just staring at me. Mind you i paid no mind as i get stares a lot. Continuing to talk to the officers and the other Queen behind the counter ; She slides my bar to me and says no we won’t take it . Pure silver suesse bar with numbers . I proceeded to greet the man whom seemed uncomfortable to look at me in my eyes . First i show a midi controller synthesizer loop recording beat maker called orba that fits in palm of your hand . He don’t even touch it and says no abruptly I showed my smart wireless apple mouse and smart wireless keyboard he said no while continuing to stare out the window . No eye contact and no sense of acknowledgment . I then said ‘so not even a mac book air ‘ he said ‘no oh i mean what year is it ?’ I said a 2018 he said nope it has to be 2020 or newer. What’s interesting is the 4 electronics i came to pawn were more up to date than their current selections of electronics . They treated me like some wyte junkie or crackhead . I would never tell anyone to go there . I love trying to support small businesses but not to the detriment of allowing myself to be mistreated and cast off . This has discouraged me from going to any black owned pawn shop. Pebblewood pawn in naperville had no problem taking my things at fair value . I’m driving there now. I felt misjudged discriminated and reminded me why i moved to Atl in the first place . I’m making sure all my family here never frequent this establishment again ."
