"My precious Shipu, Molly, wasn’t eating. We took her here only to discover she was having kidney and heart issues. Medication for either would hurt the other. No real recourse other than to say goodbye. 13 wonderful years with my fur baby. The staff here are extraordinary. How they can deal with these situations on a regular basis and with such grace and compassion is amazing. I wish I could give 10+ stars. Thank you for helping us through this difficult time. Miss my Molly-She is forever loved!!"
"In one of the worst moments in our lives as pet parents, we found ourselves at Premier yesterday, February 2 when our otherwise healthy 6 year old malinois mix collapsed. We had taken her to our regular vet the day before after we saw blood in her urine. The doctor suspected she had IMHA, took blood and gave her fluids. Her condition did not improve and upon waking we realized that she was having a true medical emergency, something I had never dealt with before. We contacted Premier and let them know we were coming. Upon our arrival we were met with a gurney, nurse and tech who took her in right away. Dr. Davis came in and explained to us what was happening and that we needed to discuss quality of life. We were not ready for this since hardly 12 hours before Raven was completely healthy. The team was very compassionate and patient with us as we tried to navigate our emotions and the reality of the situation. Once we were ready, Dr. Davis humanely ended Ravens suffering. We took Raven home so her furry friends Emma and Moon Man could say goodbye one last time before we took her for cremation. We were not pressured into doing anything and felt that we had control the entire time. Thank you to Dr. Davis and the staff at Premier Orland Park for your care, concern and professionalism during our time of great sadness and doing what you could to save our Raven."
"I took my 2 1/2 year old pup to Premier for vomiting since 3 in the afternoon. I explained that she has 2 fur siblings at home and I would stay since it was at the time of check-in it was 3 hour wait. I was put in a room since my pup barked at another dog. I received texts that my time was moved to a later time was pushed multiple times before I left after my pup had vomited, and it seemed like a chore to clean it up. I understand the critical patients need to come first, but when you have a dog vomit in the waiting area and have been there 3 hours already and were told an additional 2 to 4 hours, possibly more. It was a bit unsettling. They wanted me to go home and come back. I just don't understand. If you have an emergency, why would someone want to go in and out in 12 below weather only to possibly be moved time slots again for another more urgent" emergency "?"
"Brought my dog in on New Year's Day around 3:30 AM. The staff was so kind, patient and supportive. Unfortunately, we had to euthanize, but their compassion and allowing us time and space was much appreciated. It also wasn't nearly as expensive as I had assumed it would be."
"Seeing a lot of reviews about costs and such, but it seems people don't realize this is an Animal HOSPITAL. Hospitals are more pricey than your regular pet clinic. We took our sick kitten here in a rush because we were worried about her not making it. The receptionists were very nice and welcoming, the vet techs were informative and caring, and the vet was as well. We are greatful for them and what they do. Was it pricey, sure. Were we there for hours waiting, yes, but again it's a hospital and it was worth it when no where else would see our kitten as a walk-in. For our fur baby, it was worth it."
