Reviews of Smithsonian National Museum of American History
"This museum is jam-packed with history and memorabilia. It's truly a fascinating museum to visit. There are interactive stations and areas for the kids to play and be involved. We dont have kids, but it stood out just how inclusive the museum was set up for all who visit. To explore this museum fully, you will need more than an hour. You could easily spend a morning exploring, learning, and taking photos."
"Haven’t been here in years. So glad to be back. Found a wonderful underground parking lot about 15 min walk away. Sunday afternoon, quite, clean and super polite staff and security. Love the Star Trek suite and Muhammad Ali robe, as well as Rocky’s robe. Although the cafe is a bit expensive we did expect that. Lots of fun and always happy it’s free."
"Having just moved to the area I have really wanted to check out all the Smithsonian museums. This is the second one I did and I loved every minute of my time here. I got there right after opening and stayed till 3:45 and still didn't get to do everything the museum had. If you really like to take your time reading though everything plan on spending a full day here or you're going to have to either skip areas or rush through them. Now as for the areas In the museum themselves, they are great. Lots of well preserved items from all across the history of the USA. Personally my favorite was getting to see the old Philadelphia on the top floor. It's well preserved and super cool to see. The only negative thing I would say is that sometimes where to start in an exhibit isn't clearly marked so I went backwards through a couple of them. Which isn't a big deal but I wish entrances were better marked. I didn't have a map and that might help but other than that I loved the museum and would definitely like to come back and have more time to go through the exhibits."
"Our trip to Smithsonian museum was planned at the last minute. We're glad that we visited this museum despite the fact that I felt things could have been better organized in terms of layout. Yet, each section was so informational and the displays made the museum feel like a treasure house. The rich history of American and some international components have been preserved and showcased to the point where you cannot believe what your eyes are witnessing. For another piece of fact that the entry is free, this facility is an absolute outstanding attractions that each visitor should take advantage of. Learning even a single new thing is great."
"This museum is simply wonderful, what we couldn't tear our eyes away from for a long time is the ships, this museum is very informative about American history. The introduction of new technologies trains, ships, bicycles and much more. The museum itself is very clean, the staff is good, it is spacious, and the most important thing is that you get to know the history of ancient America, you dive into the past and discover something interesting and new for yourself. I don't really like museums, but I was delighted by this one, and I liked it. My kids were also happy and couldn't be contained. I recommend it to everyone, even with small children, it will be interesting and fun for everyone)"
