Reviews of James Madison Museum of Orange County Heritage
"I absolutely loved stopping by this museum when i was in Orange ! The volunteers were absolutely amazing and super sweet! This was a few years ago now, but i think about this experience quite often! The museum was almost completely devoid of people when i went, no wait of any kind and very very nicely organized ! I am an autistic individual with a special interest in american history. The staff were thrilled to talk about the amazing history, and went above and beyond! They even allowed me to see some items that couldn't be displayed, including clothing that was worn by Madisons wife! If you have time I 100% recommend stopping by this lovey place, it will forever be an experience that i keep very close to my heart!"
"A small, inexpensive bite of history. Very with the time. Some great original pieces, and replicas."
"I saw this museum listed when I checked out James Madison home in Orange Virginia. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well done this museum is. The woman volunteere at the front desk gave me a short tour through the rooms and explained each and pointed out what I considered the best objects. Almost all items are original. I loved the bed and chair of president Taylor. An original house from 1733 was moved into the museum."
"We had an outstanding tour led by the very knowledgeable and friendly museum director. The museum boasts a large number of artifacts from the 18th and 19th century. There is a beautiful large charcoal-etched mural worth seeing."
