The Wakefield Heritage Commission, located at 2 High Street in Wakefield, New Hampshire, was established in 1993 with a mission to preserve and restore important areas of the community that showcase Wakefield's rich history in transportation, manufacturing, and farming. Through the dedication of volunteers, donors, and grants, the Commission has successfully restored several historic buildings such as the Garvin Building, Union Station, the Lovell-Union Grange, and more.

In 2014, the Newichawannock Bridge and Canal was added to the National Register of Historic Places, solidifying Wakefield's place in national history. Visitors are invited to explore Heritage Park and experience unique activities such as operating a B&M locomotive and learning about the town's fascinating past.

Heritage Day, held annually in August, is a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy a fun-filled day at Heritage Park in Union, NH.
