"Terribly Rude!!! I showed the woman at the counter my email and I said I had an order to pick up. She waved away my phone and asked for the last name which is made up of two. She can’t find it and asks me if I got an email saying it was ready. I said I had just showed it to her. She finally finds it and TELLS me that my name is only the last of the two names. Well they may have used only one of my names but I know my name. Duh! Then I go shopping. I can’t find the better scissors. So I call the store and ask if they carry the brand and where they are located. She can’t seem to figure out I’m in the store and just want to know what isle. It was like a who is on first conversation. So she comes and shows me and they have 3 styles. She tells me to let her know when I decide and runs off. It only takes a second for me to decide and she is gone. So I do a little yodel - like you-who, I know which scissors. I try again. No one comes. Surprise! So I call the store. I can hear her yelling from the front desk to where I am. Then a woman appears from some isles over and starts yelling at me that I should have come and gotten her- like I knew where she was?!?! So I just said- stop the lecture and get me the scissors. Then at check out I find out the scissors are on sale and I can’t use my coupon. I ask her to just charge me full price and use the coupon. Nope! Then when I get home I discover the fabric I ordered I cut into two pieces. Any decent sewing store would never do that!!!"
"This is the only freaking craft store anywhere from Lake View to the far south suburbs and I show up at 4 pm on a Saturday and it’s CLOSED FOR NO REASON with NO NOTE OR EXPLANATION OR VOICEMAIL OR ANYTHING!!!!!!! You’re a craft store and you’re telling me you don’t have a piece of paper, a pen, and some tape to leave a note?????? “So sorry we’re closed unexpectedly, we will reopen at X time” ?????? Edited to add: I called the store on Monday afternoon to verify they were actually open before I went again and I got an extreme attitude from some guy who answered the phone. He was rude the second he picked up the phone and said “hello?” like I was bothering him, and then he acted like it was ridiculous that I was calling to see if they were open (first of all, irrespective of the issue Saturday, it’s New Year’s Day, so wouldn’t it be feasible people would be calling to verify the hours on a holiday..? That’s pretty normal..? Not sure what the attitude is for???). I said, “well you were closed in the middle of the day Saturday when you were supposed to be open..?” And he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. Even if he wasn’t working that shift, word travels between employees when stuff like that happens, so I’m sure he knew exactly what happened, and there was simply no need for him to act like that. Great way to treat your customers, especially after already seriously inconveniencing them! I also checked the reviews and found 3 other reviews from the past year saying the same thing, that they were randomly closed when they were supposed to be open. It appears this is a consistent problem."
"Didn't like that the online price is different than the in-store price. Discriminating against in-store shoppers. Didn't like the staff serving another customer when I was in line first and at the register. She makes me wait when she serves another customer behind me. Bad experience overall."
"Convenient craft store near downtown with a big selection and reasonable prices. I overheard an angry employee cursing. Nice polite cashiers but weird sour store smell. Always make sure to use a coupon from their website."
"The best location! Whoever is in charge of hiring is doing a wonderful job. Every single time I've gone in (and it's frequently) I have encountered the sweetest people. Emma is someone I've seen regularly, and she is always so sweet and helpful. I love coming to this location :)"
