"My husband found Deyoung online and he was local so he decided to hire him. Kevin has a full-time job with Purdue University so he said he would be able to get the work done after work and on weekends. We needed two bathrooms tore out and plumbed before we moved in on July 15, 2022. This included two showers, toilets and vanities. HE WAS TOLD THAT IF HE COULD NOT GET BOTH BATHROOMS DONE AT THE SAME TIME TO TEAR OUT ONLY ONE. On June 27th we had the HVAC people start their work and we told Kevin he could start that day too since HVAC was basically just strategizing because it is an old house. Kevin ripped out the showers in a couple hours and then never showed up for the next couple weeks. Every time we contacted him there was some excuse. He blamed parts on his supplier so we had mostly moved in and had no way to shower for work. I had to spend 3 weeks driving elsewhere to shower which was super fun to say the least. Luckily the lovely people who were doing the tile were able to finish the plumbing and get our bathrooms done. We fired him on July 24th and told him we would not be paying him for any items not already delivered and we would need an itemized bill and a cashier's check or cash back on the $5000 deposit. On August 9th we sent them a reminder that we still had not received anything. On August 26th they said they were going to mail us a check and bill the next day. On September 9th I received a bill dated 8/29, a cashier's check dated 9/6, and an envelope dated 9/7. The invoice included a $250 restocking fee for two regular toilets. The parts he claimed were backordered should not have been included because they were supposedly never received by the supplier. I called and asked about the restocking fee being so high and he got very defensive. He said he wasn't going to give me any paperwork from his supplier because it had private account information. I said I didn't want his private info and that I just wanted the receipts for what he bought so I could ask the supplier about their policies. He was reluctant to give me the name of the supplier like it was a big secret so I couldn't catch him in his lies. He showed up randomly to my house and would tinker here and there and never do any real work and somehow racked up 21 hours of "work" so he could charge us $1890 in labor. Kevin probably charged us for labor when he showed up and did no bathroom work but happily showed my husband pictures of a birdbath he made out of a pedestal sink. I wouldn't put it past him. He is being evasive and vindictive and if he didn't have anything to hide he would supply me with the receipts. He is overcommitted to other jobs because the same day he was showing the pictures he had to go and help a different client so we were really feeling like our job wasn't important because he had weeks to get it done and gave us every excuse in the book. WOULD NOT ADVISE USING KEVIN. HE WILL LIE AND OVERCHARGE."
"Two years ago the warranty people sent them out to my house to replace the furnace. I just had a company come in and replace an exhaust elbow that was rusted and split in half, it was venting into my crawlspace. I was charged for new duct but didn't get it. That suff happens over time but not 2yrs. One of the techs said that the reason it could of happened was they didn't have it vented right in the first place. They also left my old furnace in the crawlspace."
"It was wonderful"
"Warranty company scheduled an appointment with them, never heard anything."
