"Didn't have an appointment, just needed my frames tightened. Was out in 5 minutes, good-to-go."
"I saw Dr Riggle 10 days ago to get my eyes checked and get a pair of eyeglasses. I admittedly havent worn my glasses in 8 years and I decided it was time to see again. Dr was very nice and I was surprised how well I was seeing through my exam. I was sketpical that my eyes would ever be "good." I received my glasses today and WOW.... I can see. Great Dr and staff and HUGE selection of glasses."
"The gal that picked my glasses went to the most expensive ones there which of course I could not afford. With my social anxiety it was hard for me to tell her otherwise. Then I called the next day for my PD and the lady on the phone said they didn’t have it when I know they did, I watched the gal put it in the computer. She puts me on hold and then comes back with a snicker in her voice and tells me the right one is 27 and the left is 30.5. I did not feel welcome and I feel the ladies were a little snooty."
"My Eye Dr. Do NOT use My Eye Dr., specifically the location in Valparaiso, IN on Calumet Ave. My daughter has amblyopia and sees a neuro optometrist for her vision exams. After seeing that specialist this past week, my daughter was good to go to a regular eye Dr to get fitted for contact lenses, since our specialist is 2.5 hours away. I called and made that appointment while making that long drive home. I am now wishing I had not rushed to do so (the teenager has been asking for awhile so these are a Christmas gift) and would have realized where I was calling. They did not have the best customer service when I had used them for a vision (glasses) exam in May 2022. When I made the appointment I explained it was just for contacts, we wouldn’t be using insurance as we were just coming from her specialist, so our 1x a year was used up; I made sure to ask cost because I’m a single mom and need to budget. They gave me a range that the appointment could cost $144, $17?, and a third higher amount. I asked what would make the price change and they said if she had astigmatism, or another issue that escapes me at the moment. I stated that her specialist had already cleared her of those things when approving her to see a standard eye Dr for the contacts piece. Ok, so $144. This was $20 more expensive than Walmart but they could see her on Monday when she is off school so I decided the $20 was worth her not missing classes. FFwd to today, her appointment is moved up from Monday, I’m told it will take about an hour. We arrive and it’s not friendly even though they said they could see her 30 minutes from the time we were just on the phone. We spent maybe 10 minutes doing any kind of exams/seeing a Dr. The entire time in the building was 25 minutes, at most! And then the woman tells me it’s going to be $213. So I tell her I was told it would be $144. I repeat all that I discussed on the phone w the original appointment. She goes to the manager, comes back and says “Yeah that’s for the eye exam for glasses, they shouldn’t have told you that price”. I said well had I been told the correct price I would have gone elsewhere as it was considerably cheaper. She says “Oh well it says in the paperwork…”. What paperwork? I was never asked to fill out any paperwork. “Oh you weren’t?” Hindsight - I should have walked out at this point since like she just identified, I had done zero paperwork. Definitely kicking myself now. Customer Service is horrible. They aren’t accountable for their mistakes and are a rip off. They spent less than 15 minutes on my child (because I had most everything needed from our specialist), I was paying out of pocket, and you couldn’t honor the price you told me since it was your mistake???? Well I hope the $70 from this single mom was worth it. I’m going to give you $70 worth of reviews."
"I like the lenses to have some color tint to them. The last time I ordered glasses were from here and they were good right from the start. I wanted the exact same tint I had on my new glasses. 2 months later and the glasses sent back and forth 4 times and I still did not have anything that even closely resembled what I wanted. No real apology. After the fourth time I asked for my money back. Again, no apology. They just refunded my money and sent me on my way. Now over 2 months since my initial eye examination, I am back to square one to go out and get a pair of glasses. A lot of wasted time"
