"Unfortunately, DR. Cooper was very unhelpful during the pandemic. I’ve been taking high blood pressure meds and a thyroid med both at the same dosage for around 9 years. She refused my refill request at the height of the pandemic. She wanted me to come in for lab tests and an office visit before giving me any refills. I explained that we had lost our health insurance and I couldn’t afford to come in for the tests that she was requiring. I also didn’t feel comfortable going into a clinic where there were sick people. I wasn’t sick, I just needed a refill. I ended up using a doctor app and got my needed medication that way, costing $49 (much less by far than I would’ve had to pay for an office visit, let alone the lab costs without insurance). Thankfully we now have health insurance but it’s with a different company, so we now have a different doctor that we’re happy with. I’m not sure why she would demand an office visit during a pandemic for medications that I’ve been taking for 9 years, but I’m glad to have a different doctor now."
