Ryan Abel, MD is a board-certified radiation oncologist located at the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center within Owensboro Health in Owensboro, Kentucky. Dr. Abel brings a wealth of experience and expertise in various cancer-treatment technologies to his practice.

Originally from Southern California, Dr. Abel completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University Hawaii, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with honors. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California, followed by his residency training in radiation oncology at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine.

In addition to his medical background, Dr. Abel has a strong foundation in the sciences, with previous research experience in molecular biology and cell culture. He is highly skilled in the use of advanced radiation delivery systems such as the Gamma Knife Perfexion and CyberKnife, as well as the Pinnacle and Eclipse systems.
