Community Dental Clinic 2811 New Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303

"It is a crying shame that this is the only Medicaid-friendly dental service facility in Owensboro. I have been trying to schedule an appointment for a 6 year old who has a painful cavity for going on a month now. I have called once or more times every single day and not one time has an actual human being answered the telephone. I have repeatedly gotten a voice recording telling me to leave a message and someone would get back with me soon. I have left 50 messages and never once has anyone returned my phone call so that I can schedule this much needed appointment. A good friend of mine warned me that this was a terrible place. They require you to confirm your appointment the day before youre scheduled, and they tell you this at the time that you schedule your appointment. What they neglected to tell my friend is that theyre closed every Friday. Her child's visit was scheduled on Monday; when she tried to phone on Friday (the actual "day before") to confirm her appointment, she found the office was closed. Though she was uninformed and she left a message on their machine to confirm the appointment, they still kicked her out, refusing to see even her child. To me, it is beyond ridiculous that no one ever seems to answer the phone here; seriously, if you are that busy that you can't spare someone to pick up a phone and say "hello, please hold", may I suggest hiring more staff? And while you're at it maybe hire some that don't abuse their power like your current front of desk staff apparently does."

"Never answer their calls!!! Finally did once and hanged up in the middle of conversation, and never return your calls!!!!"

"Dr. Ralph was friendly and patient and considerate with me! Many dentist have side eyed me when I say I need triple doses of shots to numb me...he did not. Good conversation before and after my extraction. And honest about not able to pull another tooth. I assuming he didn't want to be liable for anything instead of being greedy! Life gets busy...go to their office and they will get you right in... ESPECIALLY if you are in pain!!!!I know they don't answer or return calls but that drive their you will see why it's hard to answer."

"They accept medicaid but they are not going by sliding scale fee anymore. This hurts senior citizens who don't have the type of medicaid they will only accept. They are limited on the services provided to patients. I had my crown come off. They do not recement crowns at this office. They do extraction and fillings but not crown recement. They need to bring sliding scale fee back to help senior citizens like me and others!"

"The staff here is great, but their new dentist has horrible people skills. After simply saying hello, this dentist immediately proceeded to talk down to me in his attempt to "educate" me on what I needed which I'm well aware of. When I stated I'm well aware, he continued belittling me while trying to refer me to Louisville and refusing to fix their own work. I've requested my files and I'll be reporting this incident to the proper boards and agencies. I genuinely feel bad for the staff having to apologize for and try to resolve the problems this new "Doctor" creates."
