"I do not write many reviews but feel compelled to for Good Brothers. Can only speak to our experience which was very unfortunate. If I could give zero stars I would on this review. We engaged Good Brothers for interior wall and trim painting. From beginning we shared that we wanted white paint to cover pastel colored walls. We received an estimate (as we did from 4 others) his was in the middle and we chose him based on his estimate. After a few hours on the first day, he informed me that we might need a second coat because the white wasn’t covering the color well. On the second day he gave me an updated estimate of more than $2,000 over original estimate. Said he didn’t know that it would require two coats and to check his contract for stipulation about second coat. On morning of third day, we let him go saying we did not want them to finish. Shared with him my discomfort with his pricing and estimate - felt like he gave us one price to get the job. He told me never had this problem in 30 years. If you have 30 years experience, how do you not know that it will take, or most likely take, two coats of white to cover color? I shared that at the very least he should have given me two prices so that we would know the possibility. He gave us a bill for more than half of original estimate for about a third of the work. We spoke and I shared what I felt was a fair price. He threatened lawyers. We sent him a check for $500 more than we thought fair. He called that he would settle for a price that was about $160 more. Before we could send balance, we received numerous (more than 6 and most of them certified) letters from his long time friends at Craig and Craig Llc. stating that a mechanical lien had been filed if we didn’t pay the original price he demanded. We ended up paying that price plus a legal fee to Craig and Craig. Good Brothers turned quickly to lawyers in less than two weeks, when we were discussing a fair settlement. Such quick legal action makes me wonder. This was our experience with Good Bothers. The painter we had come in to finish the job did a wonderful job for less money than we paid Good Brothers who only completed a third of the job."

My wife literally bumped into the owner Nate at Sherwin Williams in Valpo and asked for a quote. The owner Nate had mentioned that you get what you pay for meaning his price might be a little high. We found the opposite to be true and his price beat other painters quotes. We had a previous large room painted by another team and they made messes, lines weren't straight and the list goes on. Good Brothers is the opposite, no mess, straight lines and great job! We literally enjoyed having them in our home. They take a picture in the morning of your room, then move everything, furniture, Christmas tree, clothes, appliances, odds and ends, they literally do it all with no hassle to the home owner. At the end of the day they reference the picture and put every thing back where it was as if no one had ever been there yet miraculously we now have amazing, freshly painted rooms."
