"I love this school. It's my Senior year this year and I couldn't be prouder to know that I will be graduating from this school. The music department is absolutely phenomenal and its amazing to be a part of. Overall this school has a great atmosphere, an amazing staff, and a wonderful student body. I wouldn't of wanted to go to high school anywhere else"
"Ive had 1 child graduate from Jeff and another who is a freshman this year. It is drama filled and crowded. However, what better experience to prepare for the "real world". The staff is pretty good - I love my children's counselor. The sports teams are so-so but if that is your kids thing--hey--practices almost nightly, keeps them off the streets. The Music/Art dept is amazing. Minimum of 2 plays per year, 2 massive choral shows per year, depending on the choir your child makes there is traveling for competitions and they usually come in the top 3. They almost have to much to choose from. There is an education program that'll put your child in a school 2 days per week to see how to teach. They have a medical program that gets a lot of your pre-reqs done if medicine is you future. The AIM program that teaches the kids how to run machinery and gives them the potential to get on at CAT, Subaru, etc faster. There is a fire and rescue program if this type of service is your dream. Not gonna lie, it can be rough. If you graduate with a good grades, the colleges take all of that into account - all the trials you had to endure while trying to get your education, and they want you more. Good school. I'm biased, best in the district."
"I work at another educational establishment in the area. As someone who interfaces with the staff on a professional level I can genuinely say they care about their students. There are some high-caliber teachers and staff members here. With any considerably-sized city school there will be challenges, but the staff and teachers work hard for those kids."
"The school is a little rough but they offer a great curriculum and many of the teachers genuinely care and put their best effort forth. The new principal is the best I have seen in some time. He is always available and approachable. I see this school improving greatly soon!"
"I'm very concerned about all of the drama and violence that seems to go on at that school. Not just that, but I'm concerned about the level of education that the kids receive as well. Indiana's curriculum is nearly 2 years behind other states that I've lived in the way things are, but since my daughter has been in this school, I'm shocked that they learn anything at all with the way they run the schedules and the lack of educational instruction, poor curriculum, etc. I often find myself looking at my children and asking them "don't they teach you anything in school?" and I find that their education actually rests in my own hands, because if I don't educate them, then they're screwed."
