"I have gotten gas here before and been inside. I won't speak much on the inside of the convenience mart. My main issue is that the sign for this station is the most ghetto sign I've ever seen for a gas station. How so? There's no sign where there should be a sign!! You can see the lights for the sign, but again there is no sign!! How the heck are you supposed to know the name of this gas station? Look at the receipt? Get a sign so you don't look ghetto!!!!!"

"The owner, Kaid Bashier, drops in to the Marathon only a few times per year. His brothers, cousins, other family run it while he is away in Michigan over seeing his gas stations up there. "Bash" does not care if there are cleaning supplies, trash bags, toilet paper in the restrooms, or paper towels in the restrooms OR at the employees handwashing sinks. (I am a former employee - fired because I "threatened" a phone call to the Vermilion County Health Department) I often had to supply my own cleaning supplies, out of pocket because there was none at the gas station. The brothers and cousins always say "tomorrow" and tomorrow never comes, so I have to bring my own cleaning supplies, broom and dustpan included. Bash does not want his kitchen help to write down what time food is placed out on the warmer from the kitchen. That is a violation of health and safety standards. Two hours is the max time for the warmer, and every single day their food is on the warmer 12 hours or more!! I have been telling Bash over four months he needs to get paper towels for the ladies restroom, and he refuses. He finally got the hand dryer to work in the mens restroom, but he won't keep soap dispensers in there. He won't fix the toilets when they need it - I have also had to provide plumbing services FOR FREE just because it needed done, and no one else was going to do it, and I happen to care about the customers, and the drivers who need a clean place to use the bathroom and wash up. The parking lot is full of trash all the time, and the woods around the place. Bash bought a leaf blower for me and told me to use it to blow all the trash that is in the grass into the water - the drain swamp behind the place. I told him I was not going to blow the trash into the water. I will clean it. So my sons and I raked it and cleaned it. It hasn't been done since and that was three years ago. Bash likes to have "lot lizard" women working for him and he offers their "services" to his trucker friends. He tried to advertise me to one of his driver friends from Michigan, and I went to lunch with the guy at Culvers and when I got back, Bash asked if I gave him "any!" and seemed disappointed that I said, "no, the dude talks too much, and its not your business anyway." Beth and Courtney provided services for drivers and even advertised massages, and moved a lot of drugs to people out back and Bash seemed to love all the extras those ladies performed, but was not at all appreciative of a woman who wants the place kept clean, served fresh food, and able to help with small repairs. The building is falling apart from lack of maintenance. The walls in the shower are crumbling and there are metal plates in the shower room floor with holes and metal shards that could do some real damage to a wet foot...or a dry foot. I've told him about it, and he refused to fix it. He gets angry when a woman tries to tell him what is best. That is a cultural NO-NO for the Arabic. Now, all the bricks are crumbling, and mice have entered the place and are running around everywhere in the kitchen. The freezer often goes off and thaws everything out, then they have it up and running a day or two later, re-freezing all the food that was just thawed....chicken wings, egg patties, sausages, beef patties, all thaw and re-freeze several times a month. Very unsanitary."

"Not really sure what the negative reviews are about ? It's a small place with excellent food. Giant lot for parking. 12 dollars for a shower. I had a Stromboli for dinner and wings for breakfast! I hate eggs and appreciate a place that gives an option other than eggs. Ooh ,did you know eggs come from a chickens butt ? Gross"
