"I'm looking for adult autism testing and found this place online. I emailed them on a Sunday and received an email back from Dr. Scott Garner asking me if he could call me on Tuesday at a specific time. I agreed and gave him my number. He did not call. I emailed him the next day Wednesday and he emailed me back the next Sunday saying that he was too busy to call me. He was confused by that time who I was since it has been so long and he said that he gets 20 phone calls a day it's confusing for him. He told me that I needed to specifically contact Dr Jacob Lutz at Fort Wayne Neuropsychology and get a referral from him in order to get tested. I called Fort Wayne Neuropsychology and they had no idea what I was talking about. They do not provide services for adults and do not ever give referrals. So emailed Dr Garner again to clarify the situation and let him know what Dr Lutz's office told me and Dr Garner said he was trying to tell me that I needed a referral from my personal family Dr in order to be tested there. I asked him why did he tell me to contact Dr Lutz specifically instead of telling me to contact by own Dr. Why would a Dr specializing in autism who has 2 sons with autism not know that autistic people are very literal. If you tell me to call Dr Lutz that's what I'm going to do. He was making no sense and did not take responsibility for giving me misinformation and blamed it on me for not understanding. Why would even a neurotypical person hear someone day to call Dr Lutz and assume that what he meant to say was to call my own personal Dr? That doesn't make any sense. I asked him if he was the only Dr there or or if there was anyone else I could talk to and he told me he's the only Dr. These emails took place over a 16 day period and each time he emailed me it seemed like he had no recollection of anything that had already been said, even though it was all in the same thread and all he had to do was scroll down to remind himself of who I was. He may be running this office alone but it seems like he is overworked and needs help. As it stands I won't be seeking services from them. When you provide someone with misinformation, then refuse to take responsibility and blame an autistic person for not understanding you, all the while claiming to be an expert in autism, that's not a place where I'll be seeking services."
