"I lived here for 4 years during grad school. Wish I had known this place earlier. Best place in town!! spacious room with hardwood floor, reasonable price, convenient location. No complaints. Landlord is very nice and responsive to your requests."
"I was unable to get reach anyone either via email or phone calls. I made two attempts (Monday morning 7:30a) to send an email. I waited the whole business day and got no response. So I tried sending a follow-up email Tuesday morning making sure my email was received, and I waited probably for more than half of the business day. I actually tried called the phone number listed on the website yesterday (Tuesday) around 4:20p and got the automatic voice system. So I tried calling TWICE Wednesday (10:40am) and again twenty minutes later 11:09am. I got no answer and didn't leave a voicemail mainly because if they don't respond to email responses; why would they check their voicemail messages. I was just trying to get some rental information regarding pricing on their one bedroom units! What else am I supposed to do!"
"We've really enjoyed living here. We moved here from Utah, the owner Bill was really helpful. We hadn't seen the place before we moved in and were impressed by how pristine our apartment was and it was a relief to have a good landlord. Most neighbors are serious grad students or IU staff/faculty. It's a quiet neighborhood. Great for people looking to avoid the college parties and loud music. But not friendly enough to expect neighbors to open their doors if you need a cup of sugar and someone stole our two year old's halloween jack'o'lantern. The apartments are well kept and updated. The owner and his wife are usually around making the place look nice and taking care of the property by weeding, planting grass, cleaning, spraying doorsteps with stuff that repel rabbits and chipmunks from chewing the door frames, etc. I think in the winter they vacation out of the country so the place is managed by an agency and some lady named Julie. It's not bad. Bill is always quick to respond to messages and questions. Rent is based on the amount of people living in the apartment and the size of the apartment. For a 3 bedroom we payed the quoted price that was within the price range you see online, and it was worth it- the 3 bedroom is huge. Contract is a year and then if you make your payments on time and are a good tenant it goes month to month. Parking is free, you get one reserved spot and there's extra spots on the street. No pests. There is a small park next door. A bus stop half a block down the street. Bloomingfoods and College Mall two blocks away. Kroger is less than a mile away. I think the school buses stop half a block away. There's washer dryers in the buildings that are never taken and cheaper than the laundromat. We are a family so we would go to the laundromat to do multiple loads at once but when we have small loads, the washers dryers here are great! A couple cons is there is no exit clause on rental contracts so if something happens you're stuck paying the full rent price until the contract expires. Also, we wished we had a dishwasher, we thought we would have had one and were a little disappointed to find out that there wasn't one in the townhome. Anyway, if we could stay here forever we would. The three bedroom is a great deal and the prettiest home we've ever had."
"Had an initial conversation with Julie to setup a time to look at one of the units. She had me submit an application before showing any of the units, which is abnormal compared to other experiences I’ve had. We then setup an afternoon appointment. A few hours later, she sent a short email stating she canceled the appointment and that I don’t qualify to rent (this is without considering the roommates rent or running a credit check). I immediately called back to see what the issue was and she rescheduled the appointment after another round of quizzing. The day of the appointment, I drive over an hour and a half to come look at the units. There is no office building anywhere on site. I call Julie several times and she doesn’t answer. There is an alternative phone number in our email exchange that I decide to call. An employee of an adjacent lawyers office answers and says Julie is on her way. 10 minutes later, the law office employee calls back and states that Julie had car troubles and could no longer make it. Seems fishy, given how hastily Julie canceled the appointment prior. That’s the last I heard from anyone regarding the property. Julie didn’t take the time to return any of my calls or explain why she didn’t show up last minute after I traveled over an hour and a half to see this place. To summarize, management is extremely rude, unprofessional, and unavailable. The pricing listed on their website states units starting at $655 a month, and I was told it would be at least $750 or more depending on how they decide to price. I would strongly advise not renting at this location due to dishonest and misleading management."
"I wish I had known about this place when I first moved to Bloomington many years ago. The landlords are nice, intelligent people who care about the property and their tenants. The apartments are lovely and well maintained; having lived in several other Bloomington properties (and seen many more), I can safely say these are some of the nicest apartments in town, especially given the relatively low rent. Plus, the neighborhood is wonderful - easy walking distance to the bus and big stores, a park next door, and quiet, responsible neighbors. Definitely a win for everyone, this place!"
