"Varsity properties is the epitome of incompetence, idiocy, and complete disregard for respect. No one should rent anything they have to offer because if you do you will be completely stabbed in the back and given no solution! It’s disgusting how they treat college students with no care in the world. Me and my 4 other friends living in one of their properties have just been notified that they are tearing down our property so we can’t live in it next year even though they asked us a little about a month ago if we wanted to renew our lease and we all said yes!! Now we have no where to live for next year. On top of this they will never reply to emails or requests. The college students that work there shouldn’t be allowed to even be behind the desk. They have no idea what’s going on!"
"Living here is the equivalent of eating a poop sandwich and being forced to smile because you have the privilege to eat. My friend died in Stadium Crossing 2 years ago, and everyday I wish it was me. Please don’t give these people any money. Please. They do not care about you. Locked out after hours? They tell you to call a locksmith who is also probably closed. My rent is $1000 a month at Crimson Corner, and they’re trying to charge $100 extra to use the parking garage connected to the building. I have received 3 tickets while parking on the street, and I see a new one on a different car almost everyday. They are now charging stadium crossing residents $50 for the privilege to park in non-visitor spots, and I’m sure if you don’t pay they’ll tow you so fast. Isn’t that disgusting? 2 years ago at Stadium Crossing, I had recently got a new vehicle, but was unable to get a sticker for it because it was after 5 on Friday. I asked a security guard if he could help me park and leave a note, as there were no visitor spots. He said yes. I walked outside the next day, and my car was gone. Stadium did not reimburse me at all for the $225 tow, despite the fact that someone they hired lied straight to me face. They also lied to my roommate and I on our house tour, saying that we were allowed to bring our own beds in, but when we went to get our keys we were told we “received bad information”. Again, this is someone they hired lying straight to my face, and then giving me a bad attitude when I got upset. Literally I hate these people and I’m so upset with myself for living under them. I hope they delete my lease and kick me out. I’m sure there’s hundreds of horror stories just like these about these greedy maniacs, so please, PLEASE DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. FIND LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!"
"lived here from March-august. My boyfriend lived there for a year before i moved in as well so I was there very frequently throughout the year. I can very confidently say that this place was disgusting. Throughout only MY time living there we had a cockroach problem which was handled very poorly. We had the basement sprayed and then they started moving up to the main level, and the 2nd level, while also being bigger than they were at the beginning. At one point we saw a huge one late one night and i was so grossed out that we just left and drove to our parents houses at midnight. No one wants to go to sleep thinking about how they’re living with cockroaches!! We were putting in multiple orders and complaints and spent around over a month before they were finally gone. There was also mold in the dishwasher when my boyfriend moved in. Personally I feel as that’s VERY gross considering it’s something you’re supposed to wash your dishes in. When my boyfriend moved in in august he was also missing half of his bathroom door. Yes that’s correct, HALF of his door was gone. He put in a maintenance order which was not fixed until October, and even then was fixed SO poorly. There was dried paint splattered all over the hard floor (I’m assuming from repainting the walls but like???? It’s not that difficult to not get paint on the floors?) the only reason I add this is because when we moved out one thing they charged us for was for a small stain on the basement carpet. So we can move in with paint splatters everywhere but god forbid we leave a small stain on the carpet?? Be for real. There was mold all on the concrete walls in the utility room. When we placed a maintenance order for it they tried to tell us it was just dryer lint. When that happened I ran downstairs telling him “that’s not dryer lint it’s mold!!!!” To which he then changed his mind and decided to spray it. If I had just went along with what he was saying, nothing would have been fixed. The laundry/utility room was probably the most disgusting place in the house. It would flood very often and you’d have to walk in a big puddle of water to do any laundry. I cant even describe how bad it was because it’s just something that you see and are like… oh my god…. We also had a leak in our water softener (at the same time that our ac unit froze up). Due to how long they took to getting around to fix it, the water that leaked from the utility room ended up going into the basement bedroom closet and causing major mold on the carpet floor and wall. I also never had a good experience with any employee there. I consider myself very nice and friendly and whenever I would go in there or call I was very friendly. Every. Single. Time. I was met with the complete opposite whether that was them being rude, sarcastic, or just seeming very uninterested. Near the end of living there I did get a little more impatient and probably rude but who wouldn’t at that point! I come from a family of construction workers, house builders, and home remodelers so to me this was all horrible. After moving out and into our new apartment (which might I add is nicer AND cheaper) it really put stadium crossing to shame! 100% do not recommend anybody to live here."
"Definitely glad to be out of this apartment. I lived here for two years and it was by far the worst and least kept building I’ve ever rented in. First, during the freeze of the winter when the wind chill was in the negatives, the hot water broke for the entire building. Three out of five boilers completely busted and were not fixed for SIX DAYS. I didn’t realize how important hot water was for quality of life until I was boiling pots of water to bathe with on day five and six. And of course, the office was closed for the holiday weekend and the emergency maintenance could not get parts. If I were running a building, I would be DRIVING HOURS to get the required part for HOT water when the temperature is -30. But of course, the leasing office people enjoyed their hot water while an entire building was left with no communication about the issue. Second - someone broke a key-code locked door and what did the office replace it with? A piece of plywood. For months, the building (normally locked by a digital key pad) was completely accessible by simply pushing the wood over. No security whatsoever. Third - the unit I was in was just falling apart. Heater vents by the baseboards fell off and I was stuck with 6 foot metal plates leaning up against my wall for almost the entire time I lived there. I moved into broken blinds and was charged $25 when they replaced them over a year and a half later. Fourth - My AC broke at one point and when it was fixed three days later, I come to find out the filter wasn’t changed in between tenants like I was told (and expected). I kept getting sick and constantly had sinus infections and I’m convinced it was the grime and filth in my AC unit. Lastly (and least important but it’s the principle for me) - I paid to have a pool at the complex. It was broken the entire time I lived there. I always saw pool maintenance guys out there working, but it never reopened. Just sat there sad and empty as my rent money dedicated to amenities went wasted. In conclusion, you pay the cheap price, you get the cheap living. I learned my lesson."
"Lived here for almost two years now. So glad to be leaving. Our unit has recently had a home invasion while someone was home, where the police was called and we informed the leasing office. So terrifying. We inquired about getting the locks changed since the intruder most likely had a key, and we then learned how the leasing office does not issue new locks for every new tenant, but rather cycles through a set of locks they have so our unit may currently have a key that someone lived in our unit a couple of years may have used... etc. (recorded this conversation) When someone came to change our locks, he did not even bother to ensure the old keys were collected. (super easy to make copies of these keys) We ended up spending a couple of hundred of dollars to install our own personal security. Additionally, I was a part of a hit-and-run in front of the leasing office where they "knew who hit me" but could not help me. The car that was involved in it now lives a couple of doors down. Over $1500 in damages. I reached out to their office with my concerns and complaints, I have not received a response. Its very clear they do not care for the safety of their renters, and just assume it is safe since it is close-ish to campus. Paired with the $150+ electric bill in the winter and $100+ water bills, it is not worth it."
