"If you want this complex to take money out of your account after your lease is over and refused to give it back, this is the place for you. My daughter rented from them for one year. After she moved out, they took another month of rent out of her bank account, but blamed her because she did not turn off her automatic payments, but the lease was over so she didn’t think she had to. After contacting them several several times with no apathy or anything from them, they flat out told her there’s nothing they could do and they are not at liberty to issue her a check or anything to get her money back. Now they have stopped taking our calls. Legal action will be coming."
"Do NOT and I mean do NOT rent from Hoosier Court. I picked this complex because of its proximity to the stadium and it has cheap rent. However, a year after moving out and I have never gotten my deposit back even though it was left in good condition. I called weekly for months only to be told, “It should be ready next week.” After a couple months of weekly calls, my calls were ignored all together. I’ve never had a bad leasing experience outside of Hoosier Court. Again, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!! Do NOT rent from here. The only good thing I have to say is that the maintenance people that come are wonderful human beings and fix the inevitable issues that come with the outdated apartments accordingly."
"Do NOT sign a lease at this apartment complex. I’ve lived here along with multiple of my friends. I stayed a one bedroom unit above the office. The walls are very thin, you can hear people walking outside your apartment, doors closing/opening and even hear the conversation of your next door neighbor. There are constantly people coming through the property leaving drug needles. Even after bringing this to their attention, they do nothing to clean them up and people have pets walking through the area. When I first moved in my apartment smelled terribly of smoke. Almost nothing in my apartment worked and my apartment was not cleaned. It took them over 2 months to replace my washer and dryer. They gave me a small $30 credit to do laundry. Maintenance entered my apartment and set an alarm for 3am on a Friday during finals week on my alexa speaker. I continuously watched maintenance(from my camera) enter my apartment playing music on my speaker and not following covid guidelines. Again, nothing was done about this matter after bringing it to managers attention several times. The managers at this complex in the front office know little to nothing. You will constantly be told the wrong information from small matters up to the large ones. The regional manager Tara is rude and condescending. She does not hold her employees accountable for their wrong doings but makes excuses for them. Be prepared to be charged for damages caused by previous tenants. It’s not in the lease (given on a move out form) but they will try to charge you or make you get the carpet professionally cleaned and they will take it out of your deposit."
"Unfortunately you had to choose 1-5 star rating. A more fair option would be 0 stars because that's what this place deserves. The only good thing about Hoosier courts is that when things break (happens all the time because its so old), the people that come to repair are super friendly. The management staff is disrespectful and does not care about their tenants. Rent is about $550 a month per person, but it should be about $200 with all things considered. The point of this post is to hope that people see this and take their money elsewhere! There is a reason that 5 seconds ago when you googled "cheap apartments in bloomington" this is what popped up. I am telling you first hand to find somewhere a little nicer, because it will make your college experience way better."
"Just as a preface, I've lived in this complex going on 3 years and I'm in my second unit now. The first year, prior to the complex being sold to Hunter, management was very friendly, went the extra mile, and maintenance was great (we had a pipe burst the day after move in and they were there within 30 minutes to suck all water up and left dehumidifiers for over a week to make sure mold didn't spread), they even left notices whenever they came in to fix something. After new management purchased the property they dumped some money into visual improvements outside, but that was where the improvements stopped as far as I know. We were charged for improvements that were long overdue (namely carpet replacement) on move out. Our new unit had sections of carpet and kitchen flooring that needed fixed, was missing the handle to the dryer, window screens were warped, the carpet still smelled like dog, water leaked from one of the shower rains through the downstairs ceiling, and our sliding door handle was broken. Things that should have been addressed before residents move into a new unit. Maintenance is very hit or miss, sometimes know what they're doing sometimes definitely don't. New management also stopped asking residents to register for parking, and unknown cars will flood the complex at least once a week. On top of this over time I've noticed that the quality of neighbors has declined. Didn't have too many complaints in my first unit but from my new unit I constantly hear obnoxious people revving their engine down the main road or blasting music loud enough to hear 2 blocks away. Not to mention loud parties that sometimes last into the 3 or 4 am range. Neighbors also let dogs roam without leashes, leave trash on the ground, etc. The apartments are alright for the price, but management needs to get it together."
