Reviews
"For what it is, Willow Glen South is a solid place to live. Its not perfect, but when your income is modest you have to be realistic about what your options are. My biggest complaints were that the laundry facilities are closed on the weekends (which is about the only time people have to do laundry), and they got rid of the drop box for rent checks which means you have to be able drop off your check during business hours or pay a fee to pay rent online. Other than that I have had no major issues (that aren't just standard symptoms of apartment living anywhere), and I would live here a second time if I ever relocated back to the area."
"Very nice people and informative about the all the amenities answered all questions. Community is well kept up. Always give updates about what’s new. Just all around great area to live."
"The apartment itself was very dated, albeit clean. Any issues that we had were dealt with quickly by maintenance. Granted, the repairs were usually on the lean side, but they were made. The neighbors in our quad were quiet and nice. The grounds towards the roads were always kept nice, but our area was always a bit trashy. We had the luxury of a huge roll off dumpster taking up regular occupancy in the parking lot, taking up 4-5 spaces and leaving debris surround it - broken glass, etc. This resulted in transients regularly found dumpster driving and many late night dumpster runs by non-residents. It does a great job of hiding drug transactions, though. That's a plus. The already compact parking lot was used regularly by people at the complex on the other side of Willow Glen Drive or at the unrelated complex behind us. People could be regularly seen parking in our lot, but then walking next door or through the yard to the complex behind. We would regularly come home to no available spaces. The pool was regularly overly full of "friends" of those who worked in the complex or residents of the complex behind. Gunfire was a regular occurrence. (So was fireworks, loud and annoying, but slightly less deadly). I came home one night as two staff members pulled swiftly into the parking lot and asked if "I saw the person with the gun." They were there to investigate yet another report of gunfire. Shell casings in the parking lot was normal. The price to rent the clubhouse is astronomical. We looked into it for a 1st birthday party and I about fell over. Let me tell you, about 1% of the people that live in the complex can afford to rent the clubhouse for a gathering. Communication was good if there was a power outage or concern. They did come into the apartment a lot, unannounced, for weird stuff. Like, once they upgraded an outlet in the kitchen to a GFI. Just one, though. We'd regularly come home to yellow "We were in your apartment!" slips. I guess that's what you sign up for and I didn't have anything to hide, but it felt intrusive. How long were they in there? Did they sleep in my bed? Eat my porridge? I don't know. We moved and, after about a month, I noticed my Citizen App hadn't gone off. You don't go a single day living in WGS without that thing pinging. I'm sure that there are worse apartment complexes out there, but also there are way, way better. Edited to Add: Owner response makes zero sense. They didn't read my review. lol"
"When I moved in, the apartments seemed ok. The area seemed safe and quiet. For the most part it was, except for a neighbor I had that blasted his music from time to time. But things seemed alright until after about 6 to 7 months being there. I called the office several times to have them come out and check the unit for bed bugs because I kept waking up night after night with rashes and bumps on my arms and chest. The guy came and checked my unit and every time he said there were no bed bugs. But the problem never really stopped until I started using essential oil in my place. But then I was washing dishes one day and was bitten. It appeared to have been a roach. Then I was in the kitchen one day and saw one run across the counter. So as one of the other users stated, there are definitely roaches out there. Saw it for myself. I moved after that because I didn’t have any peace. Cause I know situations like that don’t improve easily, especially if they are coming from the units surrounding you. I also had the issue of SEVERAL stolen packages. Tried telling the office and reporting it to the police. Nothing happened. Finally I started to spot my neighbors when they would open their door slowly to try to steal my packages. My car was both keyed and egged. Overall just wasn’t a good experience. The office was nice and they had great community events. But the building I lived in was horrible."
