"A great facility and awesome staff! During my stay I can honestly say that I’m glad that chose to come from Madisonville, Ky. to this Emergency Room for my care because this facility figured out what was going on with me , that I couldn’t get a diagnosis for in my hometown. That you all, I’m forever grateful ❤️"
"After falling off my deck barefoot onto concrete 8ft down I was riushed the the ER. By the time I got back to a room and had x-rays done on both feet/ankle’s and another x-Ray on my right wrist. While waiting to seeing the doctor I was crying in excruciating pain. My feet are swelling quickly and bruising is everywhere. After waiting 4 hours not even the doctor, the nurse came and said,, ”no fractures might just be sprung,” She just walked out! I pressed the call bell and it continued with no help. Finally discharge papers we’re handed to me and said I can go…uuummm what, I cannot ever bare weight. My mother found a wheelchair and got me to her vehicle. Fast forward 8 days “OF HELL” I was at Tri-State orthopedic. After having the same x-rays, the doctor came in with the findings. Right heal was shattered and will need surgery. The left heal was also badly broken but will not need surgery at this time.My wrist was/broken as well. Deaconess Gateway ER 3 for 3 on my x-rays. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE??? Maybe I should how stupid are you?!?"
"The wait time was 6 hours then an additional 4 hours in the back once I actually got a room. I was complaining of level 10 pelvic pain and stated that I thought that my IUD moved. They didn’t believe me and ran every test BUT an ultrasound which is what I initially asked for. They found it on the CT thank god but it had already perforated my uterus. It went from them not caring to panicking real quick. If they had just believed me then a lot of my pain and suffering could’ve been avoided. The Women’s Hospital was awesome as always and as soon as I was under the care of other women I was heard and believed. I FINALLY got the extra strength ibuprofen that I asked for and they removed the IUD after a quick ultrasound. It took them less than an hour to help me after they finally listened. I’m walking around with a perforation now but my pain is halved and manageable with regular ibuprofen now and I should be recovered in about 6 weeks. If they would just listen to their patients then a lot of suffering could be avoided. There was an elderly woman with a suspected heart attack that waited even longer than me. I passed out from the pain twice in the waiting room and threw up once. They STILL did not believe me. They’re lucky that I don’t want to shorten the staff even further or I’d sue. This lack of care and consideration is negligence at best if not straight out abuse as it could lead t death. No ER should have a wait past 4 hours. What happened to compassionate care? My grievance is specifically with the ER doctors not the nursing staff. They were great advocates for me and the only reason that they even did a pelvic exam. These doctors HAVE to do better or they will start losing patients (if they haven’t already) in the worst way possible. Something HAS to change. The only reason that I’m giving 3 stars is because I know that a lot of it is administrative as far as the issues go and the women’s hospital was still kind a compassionate. I would’ve given 1 star otherwise. Shame on this hospital for what they put their patients through."
"I have been a patient here on two occasions for inpatient care and many times for outpatient care. Each visit I have been cared for so well by the staff of nurses, techs, and doctors. The food was good compared to other hospitals I have stayed at and they are quicker as well! I was not as impressed with their PT staff. The special services took longer to come around than at other hospitals. I think they just don’t have enough of them! My nurses were top notch and that makes a hospital visit tolerable :) OH- the lab is the BEST and FASTEST in the area! Results are so quick! Whether scheduled or not or impatient or not, the lab is best around! I highly recommend Deaconess Gateway Hospital for all your medical needs!"
"Great easy to find location using Google Maps as it is right on Interstate 69 in Evansville, Indiana. It is easy to get in and out of from their large free parking area. The staff here are all super helpful, friendly, and skilled at what they do. It is a super clean hospital complete with all necessary services and labs."
