"Needed to grab a screw bit to finish some work. They had an assortment of bits that you could buy individually so you didn’t have to buy an entire set"
"Best local neighborhood hardware store screw the big dogs these folks will set you up, very friendly"
"If you need anything, please stop here before going anywhere else first. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. You will not find this kind of service anywhere else. Not only are they helpful with general hardware but they’re also a bike shop with an incredible variety of bikes to purchase. They’ve also repaired my bicycle that I purchased from them. Highly recommend."
"I wanted to cut 4 kitchen table legs down to make a chic coffee table. I read reviews that the big box hardware stores would be able to do it for free or a couple of bucks- I was more than willing to pay- and with their ample supply of lumber I was certain this would be true. I called Windy City Hardware after getting turned away from Home Depot (in person), and an Ace Hardware store. The guy on the phone told me to bring it in to see what I had, not assuring me he would be able to. I walked into the shop the same day, just before closing with table legs in hand to a chorus of "there is the lady with the legs". I felt like Norm on Cheers. Jerry and his lovely wife owns the place. Michael and another guy also helped out. Jerry measured twice, confirmed the length with me and within minutes he and the guys emerged with my new coffee table legs. He said I could return for advice if I needed it. (I will definitely return to check out their bike stock. Lovely used city bikes for great prices!) He also pointed me to another person from my home country, who works in the neighborhood. These guys reminds you that neighborhood-based stores are great resources."
"The owner is great! You'll always find him with a company of closed friends. Once you enter the store, he will be greeting you with a big smile and will ask you for the problem. He will check your bike and let you know what the problem is and will give you an estimate cost for parts and labor. I came in with a broken front brake and he fix it in no time, just because he was honest. If you need to fix your bike, I would definitely recommend you to take it there."
