However, the staff are pleasant and humble and they have basic necessities and prevent us from being in a complete food desert in the local neighborhood. If the food is relatively fresh and most things are clean and reasonable considering me terrible location that they're in, I do appreciate them remaining on site there and not closing like Mr. Marsh did because without Safeway we would really be in a bind during periods of no vehicle. That leaves us getting on the bus to haul heavy groceries from the store to the bus stop from the bus to our house on the east side. If you decide to roll the proverbial safety dice and venture to Safeway, pay attention, go during daylight and arm yourself. The gang activity, murders homicides and robberies in this police district are outrageous and I wish I had a solution for that. But other than the blight around the grocery store, Safeway is holding their own ."
