"Very sad to be writing this, but last night I was hungry for a rotisserie chicken from Safeway at 56th. We had one last month and it was very tender, and juicy. So I grabbed one from the warmer (around 4pm) and brought it home. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst chickens I have ever eaten! It was over cooked, (could not eat any of the outer skin at all) and terribly dry. There was absolutely no meat on the wings and even the leg had little salvageable meat on it. Very disappointed. Love having a neighborhood store, and usually their prepared foods are great. Hopefully, they were just having a bad day!"
"I do not understand Safeway. Some of these items are bargain brand quality but are priced higher than name brand at Meijer. I tried this store because of its close location to my home. I got bread that went stale in less than a week and mealy, soft apples and more disappointment all at the low low price of literally double what I would have paid for at another store. Honestly as I was leaving the store I felt like I had been scammed. I do not recommend this store, even as a last resort. Even for just a quick stop for a drink. Terrible to do this in this economy. Just awful."
