"My old mini blinds were seeing the end of their very long life - over 29 years. So, I started looking on-line, in the big box stores, but still wasn't sure about which way to go. One day I was talking to my sister, and she was telling me about this place, Doelling in Valparaiso, that her husband's work used them and that she also used them and how pleased they were with everything. So, one day I decided to take a drive out to their place and check things out. Walking in, they had so many different choices of things to choose from. That's when Carol came to greet me and asked what I was interested in. Told her my story about my "dying" mini blinds and thought that I wanted to go with a 2-inch blind this time. She explained, in detail, the difference between the blinds. Wood ones, Faux wood ones. We talked about what would work best for the spots that I wanted to replace blinds. One of my biggest concerns was could they work around the window treatments I had, and replace and dispose of the old ones. Carol explained that Chris would check things out when he came out. As for the taking down and disposing of the old mini's, they could do that for an additional fee, which in my estimation was worth it. Carol was really helpful (and kind) in helping make my decision somewhat easier. I decided on the spot, that this is where I wanted to order blinds from because of the interaction with her. I gave her my rough dimensions for a patio door and a kitchen window. She wrote up the order and set up to have their installer, Chris, come out and do the exact measurements. She gave me samples of the Faux wood blinds I wanted. Taking them home and see what color works best for me. The following week, Chris, came out and measured, told me what they could do, asked me several times if I had any questions. Well, today, the blinds were installed by Chris, who did an excellent job with the installation. Showed me how they operated, and again asked several times if I had any questions. I am so please with both Carol and Chris, both of them are knowledgeable in what they do, and they have personality too! Would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for replacement or install of new window treatments. I know that the next time I am ready to replace the next big window in my home, I will go back to them again."
