"Incredible service, amazing wine. Awesome sardines, octopus, Incredible atmosphere. I live how it's a quietly hidden location and inside is definitely beautiful for a date night. They have a viewing room for the cuts of meat which is unique and impressive. Our server/bartender Nelson was AMAZING, knowledgeable and authentic. Steak was good but not the best we've had. But the appetizers were fantastic. I would definitely come back for atmosphere, service, wine, the appetizers and do the fish next time (read good reviews about the fish!) Dessert wasn't anything worth doing again either....."
"If it isn't already, this has to be on your list of restaurants to try. It's in such a unique place. They converted a 120 year old Townhouse into this restaurant, and the ambiance of the place is super romantic and cozy. I'll start off by saying that the service is exceptional. Very attentive, knowledgeable, and just overall such a pleasant experience because of the service alone. If you're not a meat lover, I don't recommend this place. Although they do have meatless options (salads, veggies, potatoes), this is more of a meat lovers place. One thing that is a MUST is their bone marrow potato puree. Best potato puree I've had. Aside from that, we shared a bunch of other dishes as well. I honestly recommend most of them! We tried the gem salad which was very fresh and a perfect start to our meaty dinner. Im a truffle lover, so I really enjoyed the dry-aged beef foie gras & truffle. It's very truffle forward so if you're not that big of a truffle fan, I'd steer clear. The octopus was one of my favorite dishes. Really good portion, and so flavorful. For the steak we went with the True Galiciana- medium rare. Just as expected, an amazing and flavorful piece of meat! One thing I could do without was a side dish of crisp artichokes. I'm also not too big of an artichoke fan so maybe I'm biased. But it wasn't anything to rave about. Also, it was my birthday and they treated me to their chocolate cake dessert. If you don't have room for dessert after, make some because this is worth the try! We were surprised by how good this was. Overall 10/10 and a place I'd like to come back to and try their other dishes."
"I was missing Barcelona, so we stopped by Asador Bastian for a midweek dinner and let me tell you, this place brought me back to foods I missed in Barcelona. Cameron took us through the menu with great knowledge. Excellent staff. Stopped by the kitchen and talked with Chef about travels in Spain. All in all an incredibly delightful evening in the middle of the week. Lifted my spirits as the Chicago snow began to come down."
"TLDR: The absolute best steak I’ve had in recent memory. Perfectly flavored and crusted with the butteriest juicy center. They had three steak options to choose from sold by weight and we went with the British cow. The rest of the meal was awesome too, the Cured Sardines and Salsa Verde being another standout for me. We ordered the Apple Supreme for dessert which would be ideal if you’ve got a sweet tooth, but a little too sweet given the flavor punch we got for dinner however that’s on us. I’ve forgotten the name but I ordered a non alcoholic Raspberry drink and it had the richest raspberry flavor and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone. It’s a really cute intimate spot and service was great, not too busy while we were there but being a smaller venue, I think you need reservations at a busier time!"
"Amazing! Me and my friends didn’t expect to come here at first but it turned out great! We love atmosphere, cozy and private. We sat at the bar and Liz was our Bartender and also our server. She was so helpful and she knew a lot about Spanish wine so that help us to make a good decision for wine pairing. We also food here! Every dish we ordered was delicious and flavorful. We definitely come back!"
