"Jay at Edwards Transmission in Castleton is as good as they come. Had a transfer case go bad on an old Taurus. He found a solid used part with only 60k miles (vehicle has 125k) and had it installed same week for probably half of what the dealership would have cost... Give me a free lift to work, communicated the whole way. The old school mechanics who really know the ins and outs of every little bearing and do the work right are hard to find. These folks earned my business for life - although I hope I don't need them! They could diagnose the car far better than anyone in the area."

"We had the transmission rebuilt in our Chevy Tahoe and have mixed feelings hence the 4 stars as we had to bring back the vehicle 4 different times after the repair to finally get the transmission working correctly. I understand it can be difficult to anticipate all the issues that may occur and with that said I cannot thank Jay the manager at the castleton location enough for his amazing customer service, good communication, and doing whatever it takes to get us working correctly. I don’t know that I would recommend using Edward’s to a friend as reading the reviews there seems to be a trend of customers having to return multiple times due to issues, but in the end was a happy customer."

"Paid for an inspection. Specifically told them I had a wheel bearing changed and then the noise started after. I even sent videos of said noise. They told me they drove it several times AND put it in the air. “NOTHING WRONG OR NOTHING THAT WOULD STOP YOU FROM DRIVING”. Whole time my brake shoe was dislodged after the wheel bearing replacement. Which means no one took my tire off as they said they did!!!! This business charged me $120 and did not even take the tire off!!!!! I also had a check engine light I asked to be addressed I was told of several things “it could be” and take it to a exhaust shop. I DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS THAT THEY EVEN TOUCHED MY CAR!!!"

"Would not recommend. Took my car in there in July and they rebuilt the transmission. Over a week, and $2600 later, the transmission light comes on again less than 2 months after they rebuilt it. Took it back and they had it for a week again and said it was a bad solenoid. 2 weeks after that, the light comes on again...they had it for a week and didn't give me any answers. I called to get an update, during business hours, and left 3 messages that weren't returned. Finally left a 4th message on Saturday, again during business hours when I didn't get an answer and told them just to leave the keys in it and I'd pick it up because I couldn't wait for an answer any longer, and needed transportation. If you like not being kept in the loop and having to constantly call them, than this is the place for you. If you like having your stuff fixed right the first time, or being updated and having your calls returned, stay away"

"The owner is friendly and my transmission was eventually fixed so I will give two stars for the good repair but the experience was very bad. My transmission was rebuilt but when it got put back in the vehicle they messed up and didn't connect my ground, they told me the vehicle was ready and when I asked them about the lights on my vehicle that weren't there before they simply told me they don't know if they were on before. When I finally brought it back up to have them fix the ground that they broke they charged me an extra hundred dollars. Let me repeat, they charged me a hundred dollars for a repair that only was needed because of something they did. Again at least the transmission works but it's just a shameful business and I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere if possible."
