"BJ was VERY unprofessional. We had this booked months ahead of time and we were called the day before and told the boat was having maintenance issues. He ended up putting a group of 14 people (not including the driver) on a pontoon boat. We showed up the next day and BJ was nowhere to be found. He basically "hired" another person to take us out and failed to mention it. I would not recommend this to ANYONE. Save your money and take it somewhere else!"
"If I could leave zero stars, I would. DO NOT book through this company. BJ was the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. We called to confirm the trip (which was booked in May) the day before we were supposed to go on the cruise and after he called us back hours later, he did confirm that we would be ready to go at 11 am the next morning. Later in the evening he called and said the sailboat was having maintenance issues, but to not worry because he had a bigger, 20 person sailboat that we could take. Next day comes, we load up our coolers and take ubers to the marina. BJ is no where to be found, but we were 15 minutes early so we did not think anything about it. After talking with the employees at the marina we discover that this is not the first time he hasn't showed up for a trip. Also, his boat was not licensed for more than 6 people, and we had 8 (which he knew when we booked). He apparently has gotten in trouble with the coast guard and may have lost his boating license all together??? And lastly, the man did not even have another boat. He called us the night before saying we had a plan b, when he had absolutely no intention on showing up the next day. The only redeeming factor this man has it that he did refund us the money we paid. DO NOT BOOK WITH BJ, he won't show up and if he does, you will be riding illegally with him."
"Unfortunately I cannot leave a review about the actual experience of the trip. I would’ve loved nothing more than to leave a glowing review had my group and I actually gotten to go on the 2 hour cruise I’d booked with this company. I can only relay my experience of dealing with an extremely unprofessional company. We were ecstatic about our cruise and as soon as we arrived I started calling the number of our captain who I had been in contact with since booking. We stood at his boat for nearly 40 minutes waiting for him and he never showed up. I called 4 times and left voicemails and still no response. Our group drove an hour from where we are staying to get there. I cannot get over how unprofessional this company is. Don’t waste your time and money."
"Booked the sunset cruise, they called and cancelled about 30 minutes before due to weather but rescheduled for the next day. Understandable. Drove to the marina to board the next day and it started to storm. Called and texted to see if they were still sailing and no response. No offer to reschedule, etc... Do yourself a favor and sail with another company."
"This crew is top notch. I can't say enough about how good Captain B.J. and his crew member John were with our family. He made sure the kids were happy and safe while he let them raise the sails, drop the anchor, and even steer a little. The water was beautiful and so the dolphins even joined us for a bit. There is nothing like sailing the Daedalus."
