"According to Crystal, the Clinic Manager, the policy requires patients to have a consultation within the last year to fill a prescription. Despite my clarification that the patient had met this criterion, they were still denied a more affordable telemedicine appointment, which would have saved them from costly in-person visits since the patient just lost the insurance that they typically have. Additionally, when I recommended submitting photos through their secure portal for review, in order for the provider to lay eyes on the concern, Crystal stated that Dr. Howell still needed to see it in person. It's concerning that there's minimal support from Dr. Howell for a longstanding patient who needs a prescription cream slightly stronger than what's available over the counter as hydrocortisone, especially considering the patient lacks insurance at this time. Unfortunately, Crystal's handling of the situation showed a distinct lack of empathy and effort to address real concerns. When directed to the health department as per Crystal's advice, and discovering a two-week wait, I contacted Crystal back, I had hoped she would inform Dr. Howell of the patient's urgent situation, emphasizing the need for a straightforward prescription cream and the inability to be seen quickly at the Health Department. Her inability to pursue alternative solutions or even communicate the patient's urgent needs to Dr. Howell reflects a deep flaw in patient advocacy. This series of events prompts a serious reconsideration of whether to continue seeking services from this clinic, given the apparent disregard for patient needs and circumstances. The patient's difficulty in obtaining timely help externally and me having to provide alternative solutions, coupled with Crystal's lack of action, underlines a significant gap in care and support, leading to doubts about the clinic's commitment to their patients."

"The visit was extremely unprofessional. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new PCP to keep me up to date on my medication. I have ADHD and low T, and was simply looking for a refill on both of those prescriptions. Despite documentation of extremely low Test bloodwork, He stated firmly that he doesn't listen to doctors from those "quack fly by night clinics" and he's completely unwilling to work with me. I'll have to see an endocrinologist. Additionally, he stated repeatedly that he doesn't give out prescriptions for "speed" despite having an ADHD diagnosis from the age of 5, and being on a minimum dose. When he requested my symptoms and I gave them he said, "Well at least you read the symptom list" with the sarcastic implication that I had simply read up on the symptom list to chase pills. Finally, he did not write the prescription that matched my previous PCP's on the grounds that he doesn't write perscription for adderall XR for twice a day. This was said over the shoulder in a tone that suggested I should be grateful for what I got. XR has a half life of 4-6 hours, and I work 10-12 hours a day. I only take the medication at work. My productivity has dropped dramatically and I'm currently looking for a new PCP who won't make me feel like a druggy, and will give me the tools that I need to handle my illnesses. The only good thing that came from this was a suggestion that I look into sleep apnea as a potential root cause of some of my symptoms, as well as the recommendation to see a specialist, even if they were more than 2 months out."
