"I’ll split this out in to pros and cons because I have had a hell of an experience here Setting the scene: brought a 30yr old Land Rover here for a transmission swap to an upgraded transmission. No electronics. Just bolt on and go. The kit was complete and while the unit looked different than the original, it was a direct swap. Pros: Chris is fantastic at communicating. He calls back. He explains in detail how things work if you want to know. He discusses his concerns as they are identified and takes a cautious approach. This seems to trickle down throughout the shop. They know (common) transmissions that have available documentation to support. He gave me a scheduled date to bring my truck in, gave me an upfront estimate, and made sure my truck was safely parked when left overnight. Cons: I dropped the truck off Sept 26 and had to tow it out because something went wrong during install 6 weeks later and work on it myself. Being cautious, I had to overnight parts multiple times from around the county (and world) because the shop *thought* they weren’t going to fit. This was expensive and then I had to return everything because they did fit. So I wasted time and money on shipping. I paid the bill when work was completed only to find out that I was being charged 400$ over the estimate because of a broken exhaust stud that he said was repaired. When challenged he met me in the middle which was fine. EXCEPT I came to find out the broken stud was never removed! While in the parking lot the newly installed transmission started making a noise. 50ft out of their parking lot the clutch was slipping. They said they’d try to fix it and kept the truck. Over the next 4-5 weeks, I was asked to get documentation, manuals. Additional parts, contact info for manufacturers which I did but the shop wasn’t able to figure out what was wrong and I was out more parts and shipping money for parts not used. I offered a uk contact for the transmission manufacturer and that came back to bite me in the butt as I was told that he had accrued 100$ in international fees with no answers (not something I had control over) At the end of week 6, I sent a tow truck over which cost me 150$ to get my car back to try to get it fixed ( it originally came in running ) Took it back to my shop and made a quick adjustment of the pushrod (2mm reduction) and adjusted the clutch pedal using a shop manual). The Titus team didn’t set up the transfer case linkage properly (installed backwards and had installed the wrong throw bearing even after I had the correct part sent 2more times. Summary: Modern car, sure take it there if it’s local. I wouldn’t drive across the city again for their work over another shop. I wouldn’t take my classics there again. Chris is a fantastic human being and his team are great people. But being overcharged, having to tow my truck out of the shop at my own expense, and when I initially told him I don’t mind towing it out to give him room back and we work together on the fee, he chose to keep it there and try to work on it more."

"I went there at the recommendation of other businesses in order to get my front differential fixed as I was experiencing some issues with it. While things didn't go exactly as I would have initially liked, Chris was very helpful when I brought to his attention the issues I had experienced after the repair. He made certain to rectify the issue to my liking and made sure to get me back on the road as quickly as he was able. I would definitely recommend him despite the minor set backs I had experienced. The fact he helped me rectify the issues speaks very highly of his morals and character. It was a pleasure to do business with him."
"Although the staff were very friendly and polite, there is an overall lack of professionalism going on at this shop, which ultimately led me to take my car back before any work was done. I first brought my car for an inspection to have the tech drive it and get a feel for what might be wrong since my car wasn't showing any codes, but was definitely under-performing; experiencing labored shifting and loss of power. The tech wasn't able to find any codes, but definitely "felt something was wrong." Following this first appointment, I scheduled a second for a more thorough diagnosis about two weeks out. Fast-forward to the day of my appointment; I brought my car in, and the first thing they say is, "I thought your appointment was tomorrow." Okay, I might have goofed on the day. No big deal. I left my car at the shop, waited for three days, and still no communication, so I call in to ask about my car's status. I receive about the same response, - something along the lines of, "We're sorry, we are just really backed up. We'll try to get in on the lift and open a pan to see what's going on." At this point, it's Thursday. I called twice to check the status, once in the morning and in the evening, both times they claimed to be busy. It is now Friday, and nothing has been checked on the car. I call once again, telling them that I have been working remotely for a week and politely reminded them that I had been scheduled four days ago. The manager then tells me, "It's about the end of the day, so if we cannot get the car on the lift tonight, we will do it first thing tomorrow morning." Tomorrow morning rolls around, then tomorrow evening. No response. I call around 3pm, fearing that they won't call me back at all to tell me what is going on. They then tell me they took the car for another drive, but mention nothing about getting it on the lift to actually inspect it. At this point I am very disappointed and have decided to pull my car from the shop. I understand that auto shops get backed up, and there is nothing that can be done about this. I don't mind waiting a few days IF the staff are upfront about how long it will be, or at the very least, communicate when delays happen. What I do not appreciate is the staff confirming an appointment date, and then holding onto my car for an ENTIRE WEEK just to take it for a joyride and tell me the "transmission is definitely having issues," which is something I am sure we both already know. Along with the seating area being completely covered in boxes, and the staff eating lunch in front of me while conversing, I am not impressed at all, and will not be recommending this shop to anyone needing this service. Although they communicate politely (when they do), the staff treated me with very little respect. If there is anything I recommend Titus Transmissions should do differently, it would be maintaining communication, and at the very least, being honest about repair time frames. Realizing that customers have their own obligations, and doing your best to uphold your word when you agree with a customer on a date shows that you respect them and their time."
