"I love this dentist office! I’ve been coming to them for a few years now—they’re my favorite in the city. The team is helpful, the service is impeccable, the space is pristine, and the receptionists are always so kind & understanding. All around, a well-run establishment; 10/10 would recommend."
"Stay away from this place. Had a terrible experience at their South Loop location. Based on how I was treated, I believe they engage in prejudice and reverse racism against Caucasians and Hispanics! Not to mention, they were 40 minutes late and were unable to provide clarity about the direction and execution of ortho (Invisalign) services. More importantly, it appears as if they have their clinical assistants, whom they have designated as "leads," performing procedures for which a doctor has been licensed. When they were questioned about the validity of this practice, they outright and wrongfully accused me of racism, thereby denying services to me by issuing an unwarranted refund. Do yourself a favor. Go read all their Yelp reviews. They've been accused of misleading patients and other shady business practices. When I made an initial payment, they attempted to charge me an undisclosed $50 service fee. Before the payment was transmitted, I contested the fee. Other observations: their office and clinical area are dank and dirty, and the dècor is gaudy. It exudes a sense of hospitality with no warm welcome as their music gave me a headache. Gratefully, I have since found a new provider located in the heart of the Gold Coast. Feel free to check them out: Ora Dental Studio on 1854 W Division Street. This location is diverse and professional. Moreover, the doctor is the only individual who performs every aspect of the treatment plan. When I questioned them about the direction of services, they assured me that the doctor would be the only individual executing the treatment plan based on their licensure."
"I am a new patient and I will be back! Everything was professional and friendly, From the appointment scheduling, office welcome, explanation of services and cleaning. The concierge like service made me feel very comfortable and heard. Dr. Daftary explained everything in detail and took the time to go over my oral health, where prior offices have not. Her bedside manner made feel really at ease. Thank you so much for making this experience pleasant."
"The office is spotless. The doctors are graceful. The staff is also really nice. I made the mistake of going with smile direct and they left me in limbo halfway through my treatment. Modern Dentistry offers discounts for all those effected by smile direct."
"After going to the same dentist my whole life, I decided to switch when I moved downtown. I came here because it was close to where I moved and looked nice. I definitely should have checked the reviews first, because almost everything they say is true and happened to me as well. I scheduled to come in for a cleaning and they asked how long it had been since my last. I told them around 10 months due to changes in insurance. They tried taking my x-rays with this awful x-ray machine and giant mouthpiece that I kept gagging on. Not only were the x-rays, super uncomfortable, but the doctor came in and made me feel bad by saying I must have a really bad gag reflex. She tried to give me some tips which didn't help, but luckily a nice dental assistant came by and was able to help me breathe and get proper x-rays. Once the doctor looked at my x-rays, she made it seem like my teeth were about to fall out. She said I almost had periodontal disease, which i have never heard of in my life. As a person living with anxiety disorder, coming to the dentist is nerve wrecking enough, but then this lady was practically yelling at me for not taking better care of my teeth. I haven't had a cavity in YEARS, but now I have 2. She then said I would need to schedule a new appointment for a deep cleaning and other additional visits to fix this or else. I get sent to see a woman in a different room, where she very quickly broke down the cleanings and procedures I would need, and the total came out to around 3k but my insurance covered a little more than half. After everything I just experienced i decided I should follow the Drs advice and gave the lady my credit card. Came back in for a deep cleaning, and cavity filling, and a few days after that my tooth started to hurt. so i came back in and now the Dr is suggesting I get a root canal, she then pointed at my insurance $ saying I should do it fast before the end of the year. I left feeling really weirded out, and several days later I decided I wanted a second opinion, so I called the office to ask for my xrays. The woman on the phone told me I would have to pay for my x-rays, but then told me to hold on one second, and came back letting me know that I had a balance due of $400 I needed to pay first. She then said that they had been sending the bills to my house, and I'm on my third strike and if I don't pay now I am going to be sent to collections. I was so alarmed and confused because I never got any mail to my address and I was just in the office the other day and nobody said anything!! I looked at my insurance claims online, and it turns out they denied the deep cleaning, deeming it not medically necessary. After talking to my insurance for a while, they suggested resubmitting the claim with better notes explaining why I needed it, so I let the dentist office know. Weeks go by and no claim is resubmitted, the office is giving me the run around, and not one person returned my calls. Finally after a month the claim is resubmitted and approved. I cannot tell you the relief I felt to be free of "owing" this business money!! I really hope they were lying about going to collections. I will be scheduling a visit with my old dentist to see what is really going on."
