"Service was less than friendly and the food quality was poor and cheap. Dry sausage patties, rock hard toast and sub par presentation. (Wish I would have taken a picture). Server forgot our coffee, plus one of our meals took at least 5 min longer to come out. Asked for eggs well done, but they were served runny. Server seemed annoyed to be there and wasn’t concerned about the customer experience at all. I get that it’s a busy airport + airport prices, but that’s exactly why the restaurant should create a good experience. A waste of money. Would have been better to grab something at the food court or grab n go."

"If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I got caught rushing between flights and didn’t read the reviews. 20 minutes before closing and they said you have to take it to go. We asked for the Penne with Vodka sauce and added chicken. Two orders and two waters $56. I expected the high prices but I didn’t know genes bistro had a new type of penne pasta, these fools actually served us spaghetti in vodka sauce, served with a thousand pepper flakes. Not what we ordered at all, then they closed immediately, so no chance of taking back. We were hungry so started to eat this concoction and my son found a hair in his food. That was the end of the meal. Never again at this place. Unfriendly staff and they definitely need to be retrained and shown pictures of different pastas. -Zero stars would be more appropriate. Please stay away you will thank yourself."

"It’s less than a week before Xmas, and I sat down at the counter just before 9am on a Tuesday morning. This place is bright, pleasant, and very clean. The staff here is lovely, and I thought the food was very good, especially considering this is an airport. I had the omelet with salad, and it was all very fresh. If I come through this way again, I will definitely stop here again! Rochelle and Andrea were on deck and they were really great."

"Wish I read the reviews before eating here.. spent $32 total after tip for a very thin slice of dry, bland chicken and a sad "salad" which is just all lettuce. I thought Chicago was supposed to have good food =("

"I expected so much more for a hamburger that was $22.34 after tax. I should have looked at reviews before I walked in. But I tried this after the chicken place was no human interaction and no cash. My waitstaff was full of bad attitude and the food was worse. I asked for medium rare and received extra well. It was even tough to cut the hamburger patty with provided plastic fork and knife. That was a new experience for me. It did come with a small mediocre salad. I asked for Ranch & received Caesar. Waitress insisted it was ranch. I do not recommend Gene’s Bistro at Chicago midway airport. But the alternatives did not look any better. I did look at what I think is all the options."
