Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Birmingham Bessemer

"Had I known this hotel was under construction, I would’ve stayed elsewhere. Late at night, last minute accommodations. Aside from the renovations going on, imagine my surprise finding the toilet handle broken off and laying on the back of the lid. Housekeeping just left it like that? The doors slamming over and over again by service staff in the morning were a real treat as well. Not everyone works a 9-5, a little consideration is nice. -Titanium member"

"Everything is great the tv, the thermostat, the breakfast is above average. And this location is right next to many places to eat including a walmart. But this place is currently undergoing renovation so your experience will be less then ideal outside of the room. Other than that great hotel."

"Never left a hotel review before... My stay was for 3 nights. My main issue was with construction and common areas. First off large trucks are continually blocking the parking area outside for some reason. Secondly the gym and pool area were closed. There was a note on the reservation page that there were outdoor renovations. However I didn't expect this to affect those areas. And some reviews were from 4 months ago so it seems like these renovations are taking a good while. The other main issue I had is the breakfast.. which consisted of a muffin and bowls of cereal and banana or apple. No hot or cooked breakfast/eggs. Also I grabbed a milk and it was completely curdled and solid. Was not past expiration so perhaps their minifridge may have stopped working. Room was somewhat outdated and shower pressure not great. The area in Bessemer seems a bit sketchy but that's out of their control. Just overall with common areas and breakfast not great."
