Bar Louie - Matteson

"Was a regular since I work upstairs. Normally bringing cash for the tips until a few months ago when a sign was posted on one of the columns at the bar that stated gratuity at 20% would automatically be added. Wasn't sure if this was accurate so I made sure when I brought my card to still write in an appropriate tip, but I noticed that after doing this a few times that my card was only being charged the exact amount on my statements. Logically my conclusion was that the sign posted was in fact accurate so I just stopped writing in an extra amount since the charge was exact change every time anyway. Noticed the customer service getting so poor that yesterday I had to ask to be helped after 20 min of waiting yet I remained patient and polite. Today the bartender (after helping other guests ahead of me even though I had been waiting) literally confronted me in the most rude manner! She said "I've been ignoring you every time you come in here in purpose, do you know why?" . I was shocked since I'm very polite and clean up after myself, always tip & am super friendly and nice & like I said a regular customer for the last year or so. After asking her what the problem was she was stating that I don't tip. Which must be an issue on their card reader because I was writing in tips on the receipt. So instead of approaching me like an adult & solve the issue with the card charging she decided to rudely ask why I didn't bring cash. Ok, but I didn't know you needed cash to tip? I wouldn't have been upset if she would've said something the first time it happened as it could have easily been resolved since I always tip over the 20%, but the fact that she was childish and wanted to "punish" me with poor service is ridiculous. I don't remember her name but she has worked at the bar for 7 months now and is a heavy set black woman with kids & usually wears her dark red hair in a bun. She literally told me to find somewhere else to go , so that's what I will do."

"This place is like a hidden gem. It's very clean the staff is really nice and the manger JR is very professional and runs a great store! The food is outstanding and comes out hot and ready and is cooked to perfection. 100/10 recommend coming to this location"

"By far worst service ever. Arrived at the bar 9:22pm did not get acknowledged until 9:48pm I'm a patient person they were a bit busy but a simple hi we're busy please give us time, then no worries I understand. Got my 1 drink 8 mins later. Requested my food to go same time i ordered my drink, and twice requested food was to go and food eventually came at 10:23 but for dine in, I asked for boxes. Asked for my check and left got to my room and all my food was cold. I think they need an extra bar tender to help medicate this issue for future reference. I've been here more than 12 times on different occasions but think twice coming here."

"at Bar Louie after check in. No one was available to seat us. Waited several minutes and no acknowledgement, so we left. I went back down to order drinks to take back to our room half an hour later, as it appeared to have more staff. Service was slow and the glasses were overfilled, making them slippery and sticky. Despite being happy hour, we paid $20 plus tip for a Long Island and a gin and tonic. From our room, we attempted to place an order for Macs & Stacks online, however was told I needed to call to place the order. I attempted to call and it showed on my phone as “bar Louie”, so instead I went downstairs and attempted to place the order in person. After waiting, I was told I could only place the order online. I attempted to call from the bar and it went to voicemail. We eventually ordered dinner from Exclusive Jerk, which was delicious. Our last night there I went downstairs from my room to order a couple of drinks & I could see that they were more staffed like a club. After getting searched by security , I proceeded to the bar area where after a short wait I was greeted by Qindall who provided excellent service. The drinks were good."

"This was an ok place, we decided to give it a try one night. The restaurant itself looked nice inside. Wasn't crowed. We sat down at a table along the side of the bar. Took a bit for anyone to come take our order or even give us a menu. But the waiter that did come was really sweet. We ordered drinks, appetizer, and our meal..... well the meal showed up first, followed shortly by the appetizer then the drinks. That was rather disappointing. But the food and drinks were decent. A bit pricey for everything. We wouldn't mind going back, but it definitely won't be a regular thing or top on our list."
