"I woke up the morning of my trip to my room being cancelled. I called Hilton customer service, and they told me it was because Hampton Inn attempted to charge the full balance of the stay and were unable to. I told them that each time I book, due to being a victim of credit card fraud, I use a prepaid card and load the funds prior to check in or give a different card upon check-in. I have done this numerous times over the span of years and never had this happen. I've also never had a hotel attempt to charge me for the full stay before checking in. I booked with a discount code and asked if customer service could rebook with the rate that I had locked in previously since the current rate (post-cancellation) was drastically more. Customer service stated that I would have to wait until the hotel manager got in, and they could rebook for me since there were still rooms available. The manager stated there was nothing she could do, which either is a lie or poor policy that a manager doesn't have the authority to make price adjustments. If you have a poor experience or something is wrong with the room, the manager is not allowed to intervene and adjust your price? Seems odd. All this to say, this Hilton has some practices that I haven't encountered at any other Hilton before, so I would not recommend. I ended up staying at the Homewood Suites near UAB, and the stay was fantastic! The staff was polite and rooms were really clean, spacious, and modern."

"Stayed 2 nights here while in town working at the Finley center for a tradeshow. Staff was very nice on check-in, and breakfast is served early enough before getting out for the morning. Small indoor pool and jacuzzi. Great location to chick Fila and starbucka in the morning."

"We visited B'ham over Christmas. Staff who gave up their holiday to care for guests were lovely -- cheerful and welcoming. The pool area was a disappointment: pool water was dirty (huge clump of hair floating by me icked me out, plus the Band-Aid on the deck that stayed there our whole stay so obviously nobody was cleaning the pool area); also the water was very cool. Our room also had dirty floors that were not immediately obvious, not till we walked across the carpet and the tracked dirt onto the bathroom floors. On the other hand, it is a pet friendly hotel, so we expected it to be less clean than some,and we are pet owners deeply appreciate it when hotels do allow and welcome pets, even when we are not traveling with ours."

"Room was nice with Jacuzzi, refrigerator, microwave & kitchen sink. Paige at the front desk was the perfect example of what customer service should be! Coffee was still out at 1045 am, thank you for that! Located about 3 minutes from the Hoover Mall (Galeria) with plenty of nice restaurants around."

"The hotel is very clean and the service is great. All staff have always been very friendly and helpful. Rooms are starting to become a little dated. Could definitely use a refresh."
