"Called to get help for food for myself.and 2 kids and was told that I should go do community service or call a food pantry. They asked if I really needed the help that I have nothing in my house at all? Felt disrespected and felt singled out bc I'm a Male asking for help."
"If you are down on your luck, are in need of household items, furniture, even miscellaneous Christmas decorations, etc., these people are here to help. It seems there only open about one day every week or 2. But I called the number in the front window, and the lady was so friendly. She immediately offered to meet me at my convenience to get me the mattresses I needed for my kids. While we were there she gave us sheets, some folding, TV trays, toilet paper, and a couple other items that we needed. I don't think I've ever met friendlier people who were more anxious to help. Thank you St Vincent DePaul!"
