"Where is the zero star ? After spending almost 900$ for repairs on washer and dryer , washer wasn't running properly called to have them come back with no response. I had to have another company come out to reservice, dryer could have caught fire because wiring wasn't hooked back to thermostat. Burnt lint inside of machine, this was just a simple heating element replacement gone bad."

"We bought a refrigerator at Southport Appliances and they delivered it. Refrigerator part quit cooling after three weeks. I called, they looked at it and said they had to order a fan motor. Three days later they installed fan and after that fridge was making all kinds of racket and wouldn’t cool. I called they said they would come out and reevaluate and they never showed up. I called they said they were getting another fan motor and would install after that they never showed up"

"DISGUSTING and OVERPRICED!!! Place needs to be shut down asap. Overpaid for a dishwasher that they were late delivering. When they did finally deliver it they told my husband they cleaned it all out inside. So my son went ahead and did the dishes. They came out dirtier than they were before. Dirt on the dishes not food!! It took me over an hour to clean it out. Build up of goop, dirt, and just grossness all over the bottom and door. I would have never done business with them if I knew how much we paid before hand and how gross it would be. While I'm complaining to my husband about it, my younger son tells me he saw a bug crawling from it too. My house is clean. We've never have had bugs. I get freaked out by bugs. You can see the dirt grim caked on the bottom of it in the picture. You also see that the lid looks like it was splashed by a muddy puddle. Thank God I'm the one who puts away the dishes. Not only is it disgusting, disrespectful, and disappointing my kids could have gotten sick."

"If I could give zero stars I would. Southport Discount Appliance was recommended to us from a family member who had been very pleased with them 7 years ago. Clearly they have gone down hill in those 7 years. We purchased a used refrigerator from them recently. When it arrived, it wasn't the prettiest but we were hopeful to get it looking better. One day we opened it and noticed DEAD BUGS coming out of the fan. When my partner called, they recommended we spray bug spray in the fan?? When I called, I was very calm and understanding. I reassured John, the owner, that I'm sure this happens when the fridges sit in storage for a while. He became very irritated and said that this never happens. Since that conversation, it was one disrespectful phone call after another. We finally got them to agree to come look at it. Then without my consent tried to bring us a whole new fridge. At that point after how many bugs and the mistreatment, I asked to use the warranty to just get our money back. That really made John upset, and he stated "there has to be something actually wrong with it for us to take it back." As if bugs coming out of your fridge fan isn't a major issue ‍ Finally, he sent someone out to remove the fridge (he was about 30 minutes late) While removing the fridge he scuffed our kitchen floor. The fridge was removed on a Tuesday and we were promised a refun check through the mail "after inspection" on Thursday. We waited until the next week and never received it. Of course, they never sent it, so we had to go pick it up ourselves. Not only were the bugs in our fridge gross, but the behavior and attitudes of John and his employees was downright disgusting. I would avoid this business at all costs."

"bought a matching washer and dryer set 2 1/2 months ago. It was a very nice set I paid $600 for. Twice the washer flooded my laundry room. They ordered a part and 3 days later said it was on back order so he would just send me a “nice“ washer to replace it with so I wouldn’t have to go to the laundromat. I was Not home when it was dropped off or I would have told them to take it back and I would wait in the part. They made out like a bandit getting by far the better end of the deal. I wouldn’t give $50 for this washer they replaced it with. Its horrible. I doubt they could even have sold this it looks so bad. Not only does it not match it’s not the same color it’s as basic as basic can get it’s smaller than the one I bought and there are scratches and dents all over it down to the metal. I’m just beside myself with disappointment. It’s sad because I’ve bought from there for a long time. I will never buy from them again."
