"Great little cafe! If I could offer one small constructive criticism, is that I often want to sit down but there are not many seats. I wonder if the management had considered moving away some of the sales displays taking up most of the space in the dining area so that more people could sit down to enjoy their meal."

"I came to Carver 47 to honor my good friend Warren bc he recently passed away and this was his favorite coffee shop. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with such beautiful smiles, soulful music and fresh flowers! I was sold on the vibes alone. I ordered the catfish and yellow grits and honey, it was bomb! I also ordered one of the most popular smoothies(can’t remember the name) and it was delicious. My food came out quickly and was popping hot, flavorful and fresh! I’m not from Chicago, but when I visit again, I’ll definitely be coming back!"

"Beautiful! When you walk in, stand there for a quick second and take a look around. Beautifully decorated! I had to mention that first. They have lots to offer, but the catfish and grits stuck out immediately. I also have one heck of a sweet tooth, so I got the apple danish (heated) as well. Omg, so I took pictures of my dine-in plate and Danish. The other pictures are of a second visit to go. Simple amazing! The catfish and grits were seasoned to perfection. I've been meaning to try other things, but I'm hooked on the fish and grits. Oh yeah, the London Fog tea is very good. I highly recommend this place. You can do takeout, or enjoy your meal there. They have like a family style table and also seating in the window if you want a view while you dine. Enjoy!"

"Great vibe, great food. Coffee is decent. But the oatmeal I got was very fresh and fulfilling. Other food looked great as well. More seating is needed, but considering the space, the big table in the back and one or two tables for two is ok."
