"Spent OVER $100 at this restaurant, expecting a fulfilling and pleasant dining experience after securing a reservation two months in advance. Unfortunately, the cramped dining area led to frequent elbow bumps as wait staff navigated through the tight space. For my wife's vegetarian dinner, the only options were a salad and soup, which left us questioning if that was substantial enough for a satisfying meal. When inquiring about other veggie options, the offered substitution was a $39 shrimp risotto, seemingly overpriced without any meat. The original entrée included shrimp, ham, and another meat product, yet the only price adjustment offered was a mere $1, bringing the total to $38. As we prepared to leave, our food was packed to go, and we waited to savour the last bit of our meal. The waitress, Ashley, passed by once, attempting to grab the check we had set aside. When she inquired about taking the check the next time, we explained we hadn't signed it yet, as we were waiting for our wrapped-up food. She acknowledged the oversight, which is understandable in the service industry. However, upon delivering our to-go bag, she swiftly grabbed the check to inspect our tip amount. Overall, the experience felt like a waste of time, with plenty of other dining options offering superior food and service. For $100+, we expected more, and there are plenty of other dining options with superior food and service."
"A gorgeous space with attentive but not overbearing staff. The food is delicious and beautifully plated. Music was perfectly in the background, not too loud to hear the company I was with but not too quiet so I could hear the clinking of nearby diners. The place really, truly lives up to its reputation and deserves all the accolades it has received and more!"
"Such a beautiful place with friendly, excellent service. The bar makes the most tasty and gorgeous drinks. We shared six small plates, and some were better than others. I would like to return to try the entrees and dessert."
"We travelled to New Orleans to dine at Mamou and it exceeded our expectations. Incredibly prepared fine French cuisine (the braised celery hearts, royal caviar with the perfect potato pancakes and Cote de bouf were my highlights) and then eating within the uniquely detailed atmosphere with the floral installs and comfortable seating made it feel so special. So many unique touches from the food, the plates and glasses, the photos on the walls and down to the choices in door handles, it’s really a place like no other. We brought our 1.5 year old son who LOVED the pretzel Bagar, the potatoes and the Cote de bouf. The staff were so sweet to him. It was a beautiful experience all around! We can’t wait to go back!"
"We've eaten all over the world and had some amazing meals. Hands down, this was the best food I've ever had! The service was friendly and fabulous. There was a great wine list. And the food. Honestly, I can't even describe how good it was. When the NYTimes listed it as one of the best in the country, they didn't lie. Go. Just go. Get the beef."
