"It's something about the smell in these particular stores in this area they all smell like chittlerings. But they have somethings you can't find in most stores, a hidden gem of sorts, but hold your breath while you are in there.."
"I enjoy getting groceries here. The staff is nice. The selection is reasonable. If I could see anything change it'd be maybe adding a deli with like cooked chicken and ribs and stuff like that. Best Piggly wiggly I've been to. The one in Wilmer is awesome too... Still, by far my favorite one."
"This store has potential as I've seen new faces in management, but is at this time a relatively average location compared to other Piggly Wiggly locations (some are better like Saraland, some are worse like Toulminville) with regard to the cleanliness and food quality. The quality of the meat & produce varies from time to time. Unfortunately, a lot of quality meat goes bad on the shelf due to lack of sales. Perhaps lowering the price BEFORE it goes bad will allow customers in that community to enjoy quality meats and prevent the waste of unsold food. No one should have to buy spoiling meat at "reduced for quick sale" prices when they could have purchased it in proper condition for the same price. It's insulting to the community to have them waiting until food goes bad before they can afford it. If a large percentage of sales in the meat department are "reduced for quick sale" products, then pricing should reconsidered. More money can be made selling food (that otherwise would be wasted) at a lower price to increase volume of sales than can be made throwing out unsold product. Respect for the community goes a long way towards repeat customers & long-term sustainability. For example, I go elsewhere to buy better quality & thicker cuts of meat for the same and sometimes better prices. The only purpose a thin cut of ribeye serves is as a shoe sole, certainly not on a dinner plate. There is also a pungent odor that hits customers as they enter the store. I suspect employees have gone "nose-blind" to it, but it is not the type of smell a grocery store should have. I don't know if it's a matter of not using clean mops or if there is an unaddressed sewage issue, but I'm surprised the health department has not brought it to their attention. Again this shows a lack of respect for the community that should be immediately rectified at the management level as I'm sure this is not on par with the Piggly Wiggly brand. I suggest referring to the Saraland location as a guide."
"Shopped briefly in store...parking is great...there r many products to choose from..security is always present so u feel comfortable shopping...however I didn't quite like the cashier attitude..I had to go back in and shop for something that was forgotten and the second clerk was so much friendly and polite"
