"This is a hip spot in Highlands, one of Birmingham's coolest neighborhoods. There's a huge selection of American and Latin items on the menu, so it's a great choice for groups with differing tastes. The food is fresh with deep flavor, perfect for discerning tastes Dining on a budget. The service was good but not overly friendly. They did a really nice job of making sure we were satisfied, including comping some sides that didn't make it on our original order. Rojo definitely deserves a visit."

"What we hoped would be fresh good food was tough steak fajitas, poorly tasting buffalo chicken sandwich and a sad ambience. Do not recommend. Somewhat American and definitely not Latin food. Bohemian atmosphere trying too hard."

"Staying for a couple of days in the area, my girlfriend and I stopped in to grab some food and a drink. The tomatillo salsa was really good, a subtle heat to it made it better. Ordered a steak burrito and was a little surprised that the ends were open and the "steak" had the look of ground beef....it was okay. My girlfriend ordered the chicken burrito bowl, she maybe finished half of it and didn't want to take the leftovers. The drinks were good....but probably would go elsewhere if in the area again."
