Twin Lake Park
About the Business
Twin Lake Park is a popular 15-acre day use park located at 6231 Main Street in Twin Lake, Michigan. This tourist attraction offers plenty of shade from beautiful oak trees and features 800 feet of water frontage on Twin Lake, making it a great spot for picnicking and swimming. Visitors can enjoy concessions with ice cream and a variety of food options.
The park offers two covered picnic pavilions and a picnic lodge, perfect for large group gatherings. The Twin Lake Picnic Lodge, built around 1936 by the Works Progress Administration, showcases fine wood craftsmanship from that era and includes amenities such as a stove/oven, sink, fridge, and electrical outlets. The lodge also features a stage, with restrooms, playground, and beach nearby.
A daily or annual Motor Vehicle Entry Permit is required for all vehicles entering the park, with fees of $5.00 per day or $20.00 for the season. No drugs or alcohol are allowed in Muskegon County Parks. Two picnic shelters along the lakeshore are available for small group events, with seating for sixty people, a park grill, and electrical outlets.
Cancellations for reservations can be made up to 7 days prior to arrival, with a $10 fee for changes. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted on-site, with credit cards also accepted for online campsite reservations. The park is open daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm from May 1 to September 30. "Went here for a small family party. The park does charge $5/car for a parking day pass and $20 for a seasonal pass. The fee is well worth it. The park is very clean, including the bathrooms. They have a couple of wooden push carts to help you bring things like your cooler and chairs to the spot of your choice. They are very handy and work great as long as everyone remembers to return them as soon as they're done with them. The lake was lovely on the day that we went. Many families were swinging and enjoying themselves too. There is a large beach area that allows everyone to have plenty of space, as well as a kids' playground. There is a store in the park as well. It has many useful items for purchase; like sunscreen, goggles, beach toys, etc. They also sell a variety of snacks including Hudsonville Ice Cream. There are 3 or 4 pavilions you can rent for parties and such. They also have quite a few other uncovered spots with grills and picnic tables that you can use for free under the trees. We had a smaller party so we opted for that option. Overall a very nice park to visit for a day of fun in the sun with the family."
"My first time visiting; I really enjoyed this little park. There is an ice cream shop on-grounds, along with a little store, changing rooms, bathrooms, plenty of trash cans, and more picnic tables than I've ever seen at a park in my entire life. I would consider this park a perfect place for families, as there is a cute playground, and as I mentioned before, there are enough picnic tables really for any family that needs to use one (probably about 40 tables). The store sells food and beach items, and is extremely reasonably priced. The public beach is large enough for families to spread out, as is the swimming area. The sand does not have too many shells, where it would be uncomfortable to walk on. The water is clear and clean. A day-pass for parking is only $5, and parking is near to the beach. Plenty of shady areas and a couple of gazebos, as well. The only downsides are that no dogs are allowed on the beach, no alcohol, and you cannot build a fire. Unfortunately, that is common for most public beaches. Still quite a charming little lake park."
"Had a birthday party there. The Pavillion was clean, the ranger and workers were friendly, the garbage was emptied at least 2ce while we were there, the bathrooms clean. The play areas were age appropriate, the beach area was clean and marked off for swimmers."
"$5 to enter the park or $20 for annual pass (we are IN residents) we loved our time here. We spent 2 afternoons playing here. The onsite store was fairly priced."
"My go to to bring my kids in the summer. Nice park friendly staff. Good swimming area. Plus a playground, picnic tables, grills. I like that there are separate changing rooms from the bathroom. Could be updated a little better lighting maybe. But I love the little store located in the center of the park it has just about anything you may possibly have forgotten if you plan to spend the day there!"
