"My friends and I came for brunch on yesterday and had a very unpleasant experience. Besides only one server and a hostess working and service being slow, we had an issue of what I call discrimination. Food was ok and everyone’s coffee was cold and cold again when we asked for hot coffee. We had a party of 10 so half had to sit in a booth. The way the tables were set up, the person on one in is closed in. Instead of having everyone get up to let her out of the booth, we slid the table back so that she could get up and leave. The manager Traci Motherwell comes over to us to say “you people moving the table is the reason why we dont like having large parties and letting you people sit together”. She also proceeds to tell another friend in my group that the whole bill will be on one check and she won’t split it. The male server had already let us know he would bring the checks individually. The table next to us was a larger party of another race. They had no issues getting their food quickly, moving about their area and even received 8 separate checks. I do not recommend this place."
"We came into Roots & Revelry late in the evening, maybe 90 mins or so before closing. As you get closer to closing, food & service can be hit or miss at that hour in most restaurants. To our pleasure, Desmond was our waiter, and also prepared our drinks. His service and menu insight, recommendations were allll spot on! Apps, dinner and drinks were excellent. Service is and delivery was great! Awesome time. Thanks!"
"The restaurant has a cute, intimate aesthetic. It was colder than expected inside the restaurant when we went. I am not sure if there was an issue with the HVAC or if the settings were just set low. I ended up ordering the Stuffed Chicken entree - it was both dry and bland for my liking. However, I would be willing to give this restaurant a second try but would definitely order different."
"I have been here 5 times for brunch before writing this. The restaurant is never full not even close. The last 3 times we were on a wait over 45 minutes because they put someone else in our table when WE HAD A RESERVATIONS every time. The first time was Mother’s Day and we waited an hour and 1/2. We had a 10 am reservation and were not finished until almost 2 because once you get seated it’s atleast an hour to get your food and normally 30 min before that to get your water. Its always the same person saying she is the manager but has to help take care of us and has told me the exact same story about seating people wrong all 3 of the last times. To make matters worse there was so much hair in both of our meals and literally every item. I tried to give it another chance but I will never be back"
"We went for dinner at 6:30pm on a Friday and the restaurant was empty. I didn't really like what I ordered, but I'm a picky eater. The drinks were really good, and so was the chicken pesto crostini appetizer."
