"I have been to Birmingham 3 times in my life and I ate lunch all three times at Ted's. This isn't super fancy but rather more of a cafeteria style dining. The food is SIMPLY FANTASTIC. A stranger that I ran into on business recommended Ted's and he was spot on. I have eaten the beef tips, the pork chop and the Greek patstitio. They were all entres I would order again. Everyone is friendly and prices are reasonable. If you like good southern food (with a touch of Greek) you will LOVE Ted's."

"I searched online for soul food spots in downtown Birmingham, and during my search I found Ted's Restaurant. The crowded parking was a green flag. There wasn't an empty chair insight once I entered the restaurant, which was another green flag. I was definitely pleased with the amount of food options available on the buffet, portion size, and the minimum wait time for my takeout order. I ordered fried chicken, cabbage, mashed potatoes, and corn bread. All for $16. However, I wasn't pleased with the lack of flavor. The fried chicken was good, cabbage had absolutely no flavor at all (just hot water), and the cornbread definitely lacked that traditional soul food sweetness. Although I was full, I wasn't completely satisfied...."

"Can’t believe we’ve lived here for almost ten years and just now paid our first visit to Ted’s. We went for brunch and absolutely fell in love with the place. I got the breakfast quesadilla and it was phenomenal. Super fresh fillings with a beautifully golden-fried tortilla. My wife and son shared some chicken and waffles, and the chicken tenders were some of the best we’ve ever had. Juicy and tender, perfectly seasoned, with a light, crispy batter that wasn’t greasy at all. Coffee was the perfect diner coffee: not the best you’ve ever had, but the refills keep coming and you want to keep drinking it. The service was outstanding and genuinely friendly. The feeling in the dining room is cozy and comfortable; you really feel like a guest. The owner came by and asked if everyone was having a good time and enjoying their food. Birmingham has some great restaurants, but it also has some spots where food and service take a backseat to “vibes.” Ted’s was a breath of fresh air. Simple yet delicious food, a cozy diner atmosphere, and great service. We can’t wait to come back!"

Moreover, Ted's presence added a personal touch, as he actively interacted with guests and checked on their satisfaction. If I live around that area, I might consider it as my go to places to eat.
