"A very scenic naturally pretty course, and always fun to play (just the right balance of how challenging it is v.s. how player friendly) Milham Park has the additional luxury of greenskeeping and course maintenance being its great strength; it's as beautifully maintained as you're gonna get with a public course, and a rare gem when it comes to courses that are open to the public all week, yet are professionally maintained like an exclusive country club. Meticulously manicured & consistently in fabulous shape all season, every day of the week--especially fairways, bunkers, approaches, and greens. You'll feel spoiled while you play there, & disappointed with any other public course you visit after experiencing Milham. The Pro shop can leave much to be desired, with very low variety of stock (especially clubs) with the exception of a good selection of both shoes & balls. It also maintains prices so much higher than most area pro shops (although they do have occasional sales, including Labor Day). Clubhouse is quaint, clean, & cozy; perfect for a drink with a foursome after a round, but smaller than you'd expect at such a grand course, & definitely inadequate for larger groups of people. But as far as just playing a round of golf on a summer afternoon, it is the best public course in the Kalamazoo area."
"Ranger needs anger management training. We had a party of 5. Two husband and wife partners (best ball) and one fifth wheel. We paid for two consecutive tee times. Because the wives were playing best ball we moved quick. Every hole for the first 3 we had to wait to tee off. The 4th hole maintenance was adding sand to a bunker so we had to wait. No big deal everyone in the pro shop and the maintenance people were super friendly. Then the ranger came up to us. He told us we can’t play as five and have to split up. I told him no problem and apologized. He said, “it slows the game down”, I tried to explain that we had been waiting on every hole and were playing best ball so we were moving quick. I was being friendly. I had already told him we would break into two groups. He responds “I’m not going to argue with you, I can just take your keys and you can be done”. I’ve never in my adult life been talked to like that. I’m a 30 year old doctor who was out to have fun with my friends and this guy just went off. That ranger shouldn’t work with people at all."
"This is a fun course with a fair but challenging layout. The grounds are in good shape and you can tell that they invest money and effort keeping in that way. It has the feel of an old course (it is), it’s downtown and a little cramped…many tee boxes and greens are close together and you’re never completely out of the way of being hit at, or hitting someone else with an errant shot, especially because it tends to be busy. Overall a good value and fun place to play. Well done Milham crew, I’ve enjoyed my rounds there and will be back."
"Got my son an early Christmas/College graduation present here. Looked online, but really wanted to make sure he got some properly fitting boots. As it turns out, this store beat the online prices, so glad I went local. Excellent service, wide enough selection in skis, but they said Covid hit their stock of snowboards. They also carry hats, gloves, goggles and other downhill items. Check them out…certainly glad I did!"
"Visited the ski shop. Matt got my son's skis tuned up and waxed in time for his race a couple of days later. We appreciate the great job, and fast turnaround!"
