"I've LOVED Kiwanis for several years! Unfortunately, the past several months the prices have gone WAY up! Today, I heard an employee/volunteer talking loudly in the back about that they price things based on what they sell for on eBay. Many sweaters & jackets are now like $20+! A children's puzzle toy was marked for "$15, (sells for $25 new)". $5 for a plain toddler sized hoodie. They even doubled the price of children's board books to $2/each. It's truly sad for us who aren't financially very well off. I love supporting their cause through shopping, but I'm a lower income parent of a toddler, and I can't afford these crazy new prices. The volunteers are generally SUPER nice, very sweet to my son when I bring him along, and I've found some great things at Kiwanis in the past. I hope these insane price hikes chill out, and whoever is in charge of pricing gets a little more down to earth. :("
"I went there today to buy a blanket for my dog. Just some old wool blanket is what I was looking for. Something he wouldn't tear up. Anyway, the 50 year old, ratty wool blankets they had were between $40 and $80!!"
"Many items priced at new store prices or very close to it..use to go there and buy a ton of stuff but the last few years the prices are generally to high...great volunteers though!!"
"Coming all the way from Cleveland to Ann Arbor, searching for a 60s - 70s era sewing machine ideally a Kenmore, to find exactly what we were looking for was amazing. This place is huge and the majority of the prices were outstanding. We only paid $30 for this Kenmore 14 in very good condition. They have tons of furniture, clothes, toys, books, vinyls, retro tech all at lower than fair prices. We will definitely be going back."
"Great place for a variety of items. Staff is very friendly and attentive. They have some good collection of glasswares and crockery. The cabinet collection is also good. If you are looking for used stuffs this is your place. The items are not dirty or have used marks. The restoration of these items is done properly."
