Manninen's Cabins

"Such a beautiful, relaxing cabin on the lake. Christine is a wonderful host. She works hard to keep the cabins spotless and adds small touches such as fresh flowers and mints. We stayed in cabin 4, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom had great shower pressure and nice hot water. The towels provided are big and bright white. We used the fishing boat provided for guests and had a wonderful time on the lake. We are planning on returning to spend more time on this beautiful property."

"Stayed in Kolme-3, super clean and cute. The internet was acceptable, a bit slow but if you're staying there, you shouldn't be online anyway. It was handy to look up destinations and preload maps since there's little to no cell service in the area. The location feels remote but there's a party store and a diner nearby, and just 25 minutes from Houghton. The cabin could use a little more lighting but otherwise everything was great. Christine, the owner, lives right there and was very friendly. There's a lawn to the lake, bonfire pit, dock, and various boats you can rent though we didn't have time to take advantage of it. Overall a hidden gem!"

"Out of the way but worth it. I stayed here on Memorial Day weekend. Love that it was quiet and out of the way. Otter Lake was beautiful and peaceful. We stayed in cabin 5 and it was very cozy. The kitchenette had everything we could possibly need. Bathroom was tiny but had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The host was welcoming and friendly. Our microwave wasn't working one night and by the next afternoon she had a brand new one in the cabin for us! Super great place to stay, and I was able to bring my dog too!"

"We're veterans of Manninen's Cabins in Tapiola, Michigan on beautiful Otter Lake. 7 housekeeping cabins each with their own personality. Great fishing lake, hiking and biking area. Small row boats are provided with each cabin. This is the most relaxing place we've ever stayed and the host/owner Christine is friendly, outgoing and cares deeply for these clean cabins and history of them. Where eagles fly and Loons cry! 5 star recommended place in The UP of Michigan!"

"I stayed at Manninen Cabins at the beginning of their season, what a delightful experience it was! The owner, Christine, showed me around the property and shared the history of the cabins. Nestled on a beautiful fishing lake with boat access for guests, it was the perfect getaway. The cabin I stayed in was cozy and had all the amenities I needed. It was so nice to have a bathroom and shower right in the cabin! The quiet location was calm and made for a great night's rest. Thanks again!"
