"Love the Konteka! We ate three several times during bear camp 2 years ago and returned for an overnight stay this year. Rooms are fine, service was great, our waitress worked her butt off and we still got great service. Prime rib was good. I am in love with the autumn harvest soup, I need the recipe. Pull tabs are always fun and the convenience store was a life saver. The biscuits and gravy can't be beat. Prices are very affordable."
"Really neat place. Kinda dated, but honestly, it's still cool. Wish we could have seen Bear, but it was bear seasons. The food was awesome. Really good hamburgers! Service was so nice. The location is odd but still worth the stop"
"My friend and I went twice for dinner during our 4-day trip to the Porkies. They have a great selection of food that is all reasonably priced. We both had the fish fry both nights, which was amazing. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. There is a bowling alley and pool tables there as well. Bears do typically show up at dinner time to eat, however they are not fed during bear hunting season, so we didn't see any on our trip. We would definitely go back on our next trip as the drive to the restaurant is beautiful and the food is so good!"
"Stayed only for dinner but it seems like this place has a lot going on (restaurant, bowling alley, hotel, gift shop...) we arrived just in time to see some bears eating out back, as well as a bald eagle, which was pretty cool! Staff is friendly, and the food was pretty decent. I ended up getting the prime rib which had more fat than I would usually get, but it was delicious!"
"Local gem. I've only been to the restaurant and bowling alley, so I can't speak to the rooms, but they've got good food (fresh walleye, anyone?) and their Prime Rib on Saturdays is spot-on. One of their attractions is the wildlife. They feed the leftover scraps to the critters outside which draws in bears in the summer an deer in the winter. Some people have mixed thoughts on this, and I get it, but I would much rather see animals being admired enjoying their lives and freedom instead of being stuck in a cage for all to see, as you'd find elsewhere."
