Shelby Pointe Village Apartments

"The property itself is great…prices and move-out? Not so much. This is pretty long since we feel mixed about our time at this property. We lived here for a full year. While we appreciated the property and the beginning relationship with management, we became incredibly frustrated by quite a few things as the year went on. For one, while we had great soundproofing inside the actual building with our neighbors, there was quite a lot of loud noise from tenants and visitors you could constantly hear from the outside. This was especially relevant around holidays and incredibly frustrating since it happened during the weekday and sometimes late into the evening. We and many other neighbors also had consistent issues with our mail being delivered to the wrong parcel locker and/or being taken by other tenants, with no follow-up to figure out who had taken our mail truly done other than a few emails sent out. The painters who were supposed to also paint areas that had not been finished in our apartment never came back to fix our paint after we moved in, and we moved into our apartment with many dents on the wall that were brushed over and “fixed” with paint. While we were okay at first with this, thinking that since there were very small dents on the wall when we moved in that were supposed to be fully touched up prior to our move-in we wouldn't be charged for every single dent and space that was filled since normal wear and tear is pretty expected (since that's also how the apartment was left), we wound up being charged for a full-price paint job repair post move-out since apparently upper management has a specific painter they use to do an every three year job and if they have to come back at all to touch up the paint in the unit you get charged for the gap years before they come back if they catalog enough small dents and portrait holes. I don't blame our landlord for trying to do their job and following protocol that has been set by management, but it's incredibly frustrating to have so little of a $2k+ deposit actually returned to you for normal wear and tear - that we didn't even fully cause, especially if you have pets and already had to cough up a whole extra payment of a non-refundable pet deposit on top of monthly pet rent. Not to mention after popping back on here and seeing that the rent has increased to a whole extra $450+ from what we paid when we lived there, and it had only been a year. Our neighbors, on the other hand, were incredibly kind and the landlords we have had were very nice to us and treated us well. Any other issues regarding living there were few and far between. Just beware of what you're paying for versus what you're getting. The extra fees that they've raised the community to also don't come with any other community amenities other than a discount at a gym, a few barbecue areas, and a small play area for kids."

"I have rented in 5 other apartments/condos. Our experience here was not the greatest from the beginning. Initially, we signed the lease and were given a move in date. Then, a couple of days before the move in date, we were informed that the tenant before us was being evicted and would not leave. Instead of being able to rent another unit for the same price, we were told we would either have to wait or pay more for a different unit. Basically, we were about to have nowhere to live. Luckily, we were able to move in and didn’t have to make other arrangements…. The apartment was pretty nice and new. We had a couple issues that maintenance addressed. Though, I could hear more through the walls than any other apartment I've lived in. I could literally hear phones vibrating through the walls and thought it was my phone. I could hear urinating and fights, word for word, through the wall. This kept me up some nights. The parking situation is rough. If you have more than 2 people in the home with cars or if you are planning on having people over frequently, it will be difficult to find anywhere to park. There are also constant emails from management with threats to people not picking up their dog poop or parking in the wrong spot. For us, this was kind of bothersome and I have never lived in a place that emailed so much. What has put me off most about this complex is that we have been charged for carpet replacement in 2 rooms. I took care of the apartment and cleaned and vacuumed the carpet weekly. I have always taken care of any place I’ve lived in and was even thanked once for leaving a rental in the best shape anyone has ever left it. I have never not received my full deposit back. I was aware of a small stain from a smoothie in the smaller bedroom, so I was willing to pay for that or the cleaning. I was completely flabbergasted that we were also being charged for the master bedroom carpet to be changed for normal wear and tear, especially since someone had lived there before us. The carpet was not high-quality and was in good condition when we left."

"We've lived here for 3 years so far and have no plans on moving any time soon. Quiet community that is well taken care of. The management here is amazing. They are on the property every day and it is easy to get in touch with them whenever you need to. They also have done wonderful work around the property to add not only beauty but places where we can gather as a community like the new picnic tables. Maintenance here in my opinion in the best around. They are always quick to respond and do an excellent job every single time. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Once you're here you truly feel like you're at home."

"I recently moved into the complex and I am in LOVE. The grounds are so well kept, the condo is BEAUTIFUL. Whenever I have had anything come up Tracey (the GM) and Jose (the groundskeeper) are there within hours. The complex is very small and family oriented, but it is extremely quiet. I am so happy with my choice of picking Shelby Pointe, we love it here! Highly recommend."

"I’m happy to call Shelby Pointe Village Apartments my home. The property manager, Tracey, was professional yet very helpful with her knowledge and understanding of my circumstances. Her warm welcome and friendly nature was very inviting. Finally, a pleasant community of residents that are family friendly and welcoming. Most importantly, everyone seems to be respectful of their neighbors and their community. Lastly, the land is mostly surrounded with trees and nature that gives a very peaceful atmosphere. I’m very pleased to have moved here."
