"UPDATE: Cassandra with corporate reached out and spent the last two days reviewing the video recording and receipts and ultimately it was an honest mistake with a system oops. It may have happened that he rang up the vapes and the system rang it up as 4 vapes. It’s hard saying, but they did confirm the discrepancy was the missing tax which they’re working on refunding. They also don’t customarily give receipts unless asked so that wasn’t anything nefarious on their part. I’m not used to it because I’m from Michigan and I believe it’s required to offer a receipt if sales tax is charged. Either way, customer service was amazing and I’m updating the review to reflect this. I’m very satisfied with how well this was handled. Thank you!! I would not normally post about this but something was incredibly fishy about this. We stopped here on the way to a birthday party to pick up some beer. I purchased a 6 pack of Oberon for $12.99, a 12 pack of Budweiser 12 oz cans which wasn’t priced but the 12 pack of 16 oz cans was $16.99, and two vapes at 2 for $25. The total was over $86. I paid on my debit card. No receipt was provided or even offered. I walked out thinking wow, that was hella expensive. So I calculate it out and the 12 pack of beer was like $50??! So I go back in and he tells me oh, I accidentally charged you twice for the vapes. Could have been an honest mistake. He pushed buttons, printed out the receipt but then grabbed it and threw it away. He printed a second receipt but then he quickly flashed it while covering part of the receipt so I didn’t see how much he charged us for the beers. He gave me $25 in cash. He did not provide me a refund on the tax. And again, no receipt. At this point I’m flustered as people are lining up behind me. I walk out still annoyed that it felt oddly intentional. Why was I not given a receipt even when I came back in and asked how much the beer was? Did he think I would just walk out and not question it? Did he intent to keep the difference later on when he refunded it because he seemed to know exactly what he did. Maybe it was an honest mistake but the lack of receipts and not refunding me the total he overcharged me with tax makes it seem less like a mistake. The beer still sounds like it was overcharged for what I bought. This was about 7:20pm on May 27 2023"
